If we sell Momo then the one positive from it will be that we can't sing that wanky song about having the best midfield in the world. I'm so SICK of it :whatever:

Whenever we sing that we play like Doncaster

"Momo/Kuyt/Pennant/whoever is playing ****" = Fine, I'd even agree with that at times

"Momo/Kuyt/Pennant/whoever is a piece of ****" = No, you are, now **** off and support the chavs or something if you can't have just a basic level of respect for those who pull on the red shirt.
That's the thing. Saying so and so is ****, in a match thread I can understand. I mean everyone gets pissed off when things don't go our way in a game, and at the end of the day it's only have a go at their ability as a player. Obviously if that's all the debate came down to we'd have a pretty crap forum, but the odd comment out of frustration is understandable and on topic threads like this as long as people elaborate, then there's not a huge problem. Miserable as some may then feel those posters are lol.

To insult our players as people for no reason other than the poster doesn't rate them, though, is absolutely pathetic. It doesn't represent any kind of footballing view, and only serves to piss most fans off, because most fans respect all Liverpool players who act as good professionals and give their all for the shirt. Give me Rashid over this kind of crap any day, at least the guy talks football.

Still think the comment should have been left up there.

Yes the comment was abusive towards Sissoko, but it wasn't of a personal nature, it was to do with his ability as a footballer.

As you say it's an opinion which has been expressed on this site frequently but in a cleaner manner admittedly, though I've seen posts similar in nature to this not deleted.

He should've had the chance to take some stick for it and explain himself. We're all grown-ups here - well some of us anyway.
Think I largely agree with you tbh.

The key differences for me though, is I do think he went over the line from showing how much he didn't rate the player and just made it a personal attack on the player. If he'd just said 'he's ****' ok fine, hardly constructive, but yeah it's clearly only about football. Calling him 'a ****ing useless piece of ****' is personally offensive in my book - it not only says he's ****ing useless, but also that he's a piece of ****. Of course we could have left the comments up for everyone to come along and have a go at him, but then that's just totally allowing the comments to subvert the thread.

Yet, if I remember correctly Momo won or got very close to winning Stu's player of the season poll in his first season.

Yes, he's not a star passer of the ball, but he's given 100% commitment to this club and his work is tireless. I respect that I also have not forgotten that he was prepared to risk permanent visual impairment to return early to help the club when we needed him

Many on here was happy to see the back of Garcia, but I wonder how many wouldnt mind him back right now?

Time we all admitted that Alonso is a lot more influential to Liverpool playing Good Football than most realised. There has been quite a few calls for us to sell him as well

Surely part of the problem, and a major problem if you are Momo, is the development of the team in the season since he came. At the point that Momo joined I would say that a large percentage of our gameplan revolved around breaking up plan at the back then playing it long for crouch to hold the play up until we could catch up. You didn't necessairly have to be great at passing to play in that system, just good at tackiling. Plus at that point we all thought that the flaws in his alround game would be minimised over time. Now that we are playing a more 'fluent' style of play (or at least I hope will soon start to). There is now much more of a need for Momo to be able to play short balls, as chances are they will be a vital part of us maintaining our attack. In many ways its a shame that he hasn't been able to develop that part of his game, if he could he would be a world beater.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Juventus try again for Liverpool's Sissoko
                  tribalfooball.com - October 24, 2007

Juventus are ready to try again for Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko in January.

Encouraged by comments made by the Mali international last week that he regretted turning down a move to Turin in the summer, Juve chief Alessio Secco is planning to revive a bid for the midfielder, says Gasport.

I loved his hard tackiling breaking up the opposition play but too many times he just gives it straight back to them,it`s probably better he goes now for a decent profit.
yup, although he is still young he is not showing real sign of going forward. Perhaps it is best for all concerned if he moves on.

I've never for once doubted or questioned Momo's committment to this club, but thats not the issue. He is unfortunately very, very poor far too frequently for my liking. He has been compared to Traore by some and I'd tend to agree, for he too had the ability to frequently make the football look like an impossiball (a toy I had from the 80's which contained a weight on one side so it wouldn't roll true).

The issue is that we see the poor side of Momo a fair deal more than the competant and great Momo. Its just once too often now.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
