And he's probably still feeling the effects of playing in the Copa America.

what i meant was the rotation of it all. One week its 2 central, the next its 3.

I would like to see the same midfield at least 2 games on the trot barring injuries.

I tend to agree. Mascher seems above criticism in some circles and I've been saying for some time his form has been as bad as anyones in the team and for me a holding player noticeably out of form is one of the more critical individuals to be below par.

I always think that so long as someone makes an option for them when they have a holding player should pretty much get on with the job no matter what formation is around them. The players giving him and option with Gerrard, Momo and Benni all coming inside and deep at different times was never a problem yesterday. He is just badly out of form.

Maybe he jsut needs a settled run without internationals to get back used to the pace of the PL. Everton seemed to single him out to be hustled after the first 10 minutes but dealing with that is something top players in his position (like Didi or Makelele) have to be able to deal with.

whatever he might do, he constantly seeks out the ball, which is more than i can say for some of them.

I think he had two weeks off this summer. Just look at our players that played in the 2006 WC.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
