I think he will win us games every season as Makelele used to do for Chelsea simply by stopping people creating. But Midfield Maestro like some people on here think...he isnt imho.

Don't rate him as highly as most. His passing used to be far better. Can't argue with his defensive side of the game but he needs to work on his attacking/possession side.

Yes...his passing hasn't been up to standard lately either. And he shouldn't be immune to criticism. Unfortunately, neither Mascherano, Gerrard or Sissoko has been impressive, and Alonso's been injured.

Limits your options when all your central midfielders are playing like ****. Maybe we should start Lucas against Besiktas?

Personally i thought he had a fairly good game y'day, certianly in the 2nd half,
drove us on from midfield.

Mate, I have to agree with you on here. For me Mascherano has been relatively poor in his last few games. However I come on here and reading some of the comment you'd think he has been playing brilliantly. I reall don't see it myself. Some of his passing has been woeful to say the least and he continued with this yesterday. He definitely needs to up his game in my opinion.
