imo opinion, he worked well got into good positions and was unlucky not to score earlier, there were two ocassions, one were Voronin could have passed to him, and one where riise could have passed, which could well have got him two goals, his cut back for riise shot that he ****ed over the bar into row z was a good piece of play also - considering he wasn't getting the service I think he did well

No stand out players therefore 2 goals will obv win you MOTM. IMO, Kuyt had a 2 month spell last season where he showed he may be good enough for a SQUAD position. The rest of the time he's looked very much out of place IMO. You need more quality to play for us, workrate only goes so far so he must really start showing some of the form from the 2 month spell or he may find himself on the road to Bolton.

i never saw the game yesterday only the goals. just read the man of the match thread and its kuyt overwhelmingly. any of you care to show up in this thread and comment on his game yesterday. this is not a piss take but im interested in views when he does play well, if indeed you thought so.

He didn't have a good game. His first touches are terrible at times and he lost a couple of balls through that. However, he worked his socks off and to be honest, I think taking two penalties in the same game ain't easy. He scored both of them, made us proud and won the game for us. So hats off to him. Voronin on the other hand was even worse in front of the goal. Missed 2 sitters But he did provided a killer pass for Gerrard to run clean through.

So all in all, the team performance was good

The team performance wasn't good. I think the only player to come out with any credit was Lucas.

Kuyt was better than Voronin up front yesterday but thats not saying much really.

Well i thought he played well, put one on a plate for Riise, scored 2 pens under immense pressure, forced another good save from Howard, ran the line well all day with zero service from midfield, also he never hid and always wanted the ball.

they do 2 hours on monday, a quick sleep on tuesday then the rest of the week off!

my brother is in the met police and his station is next door to the fire station and he says they are either sleeping or playing pool/basketball.

Say's the Crouch lover:whatever: Crouch went 20games without a goal and his all round game is not as good as Kuyt's.Yet he can do no wrong with you.

Kuyt never moans and would die for the shirt and brings balance to the team and brings players into the game.Mascherano gave him a glowing reference lately and he knows a hell of a lot more than you.

I'm not a Kuyt basher but he had an average to poor first half and his tackle was pretty horrendous. However after he scored the first penalty I thought he came to life a bit and played well for the rest of the game. Probably the most dangerous he has looked for us in a while.

In the second half, there was a rebound header from Voronin's shot which he should have scored from as the goalkeeper was out of position having just made the save but he headed over the bar.

im a kuyt basher
but im not one just on the basis of yesterdays game
i could easily ppick out points one any one game but thats not fair
however ,overall despite all this bollocks about him working his socks off i just dont think he is good enough.
he has poor control of the ball. a lot of the time you will see him stretching for the ball after his first touch.
he is not a player who almost ever anticipates anything,he is very much a player who reacts to things,this again makes him slower.
finally he doesn not score enough goals for me,and no ,pens dont count.
im sorry but overall he reminds too much of too many park players rather than a top class one.
