He was awful, I really wondered if he was even on the pitch with the exception of popping up for the pens. I'm not a Kuyt basher but he is not very good. Neither is Momo.

I thought he was shocking to be quite honest, he worked hard yes, but he offered us absolutely no attacking threat whatsoever, and his second touch was a tackle on more than one occasion, so all in all a typical Dirk performance.

He's not the goalscoring or goalcreating forward we need - he's neither. Works hard but that's not good enough at this level. I mean, we paid BIG money for this guy; if Rafa gets the money in the Summer I can see another Torreseque signing upfront and Dirk moved on. He seems to love the Club and he works hard but that is not enough. I could be a striker at Anfield if that was the only criteria.

We need to compare Kuyt to what we had in the past & what others have now. He would struggle to get a game at Spurs, Newcastle or even West Ham, let alone Utd, Chelsea, or Arsenal.

If it wasn't for the penalties he wouldn't have got a single mention by anyone in the man of the match thread. His greatest and possibly only real positive attribute is that he works so hard and for that he has to be applauded. However, he is a poor footballer from what I've seen so far.

To make Kuyt MOM is a joke. For a start he should have been sent off for an horrendous tackle on Neville. He took his pens well but it was just the usual Kuyt performance, plenty of effort but never a goal threat.

The stark truth is, Kuyt for all his effort is simply not good enough for LFC. If you listed the best strikers in the league (nevermind Europe) he wouldn't make the top dozen or so for me.

I'm not a Kuyt basher but he had an average to poor first half and his tackle was pretty horrendous. However after he scored the first penalty I thought he came to life a bit and played well for the rest of the game. Probably the most dangerous he has looked for us in a while.

I didn't think the tackle was as bad as some seem to think, and I've watched the replay numerous times now but I do agree with the other points that you made. I was screaming at him ( for probably the 1st time ever) in the 1st half and hoping that he'd be subbed but he really turned it around in the 2nd half. If other players had of scored from his good lead up work, we'd all be singing his praises IMO. Voronin could have had a hatrick on another day!

The tackle was horrendous in my view because it was so blatantly two footed (straight yellow by the rules of the game) with both feet off the ground (of late set to be a straight red) and was in a situation where he had no need to do it. He was miles away from the player and did try and pull out but the decision to put in a tackle of that sort, which was obviously a red card offense, in such a position was ludicrous.

Agreed and as has been said many times hard work should be a minimum requirement for a Liverpool player.
You have to offer more than that as a striker at the top level and Dirk doesnt and imo will never cut the mustard.
