He was played upfront on his own and we won.

He got little service on Saturday and a couple of his offsides one which resulted in a goal were borderline
In the majority of his games for us he's not been played as a striker.
So he's had to adjust to the PL not playing his game.

He's proved he can score for fun in Holland OK its a different class of league but he's yet IMO been given the chance to prove if he can do it here. Instead he does as he's told.
Could effect his game and confidence infront of goal or maybe what we see week in week out is the best he can do.

A run of Torres and Kuyt oup front might be in order although I'#d prefer to see Stevie play the Kuyt role.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

If we wanted just workrate, I know a few lads that have an even better workrate than Kuyt, let's sign em up!

I mean fair play to the lad for his effort and he will never be a player that's disliked but it can only get him so far. His trial period is nearly over IMO so he'd wanna start producing some quality quickly.
              Like your hero Crouch?

Still me mate, but I've seen the light of positivity

Always going to be some that slate Kuyt even though he works his ar*e off. Didn't see anyone else step up to take them pressure penalties. For one, he saved Rafa some stick so he's bound to start next Sunday too.

Kuyt and Torres is still our best front pairing by a country mile (unless Rafa decides to play Babel and Torres up front)

For the same money as Kuyt we'd have Anelka upfront with Torres (or even Ashton); either would make us a more potent force home & away without taking away anything on the defensive side of things.

Just as a matter of interest if King Kenny had worked his arse off rather than being the genius creator and scorer that he was would we have won so much? Not a chance. We've lowered our standards as a club if we think Kuyt is a first choice pick for LFC.

                      Agreed totally.

Just thinking there, In another thread, I mentioned Cisse, Bellers and Anelka. All coc** of a sort and might cause some dressing room trouble. On the other hand you have the work horses that wouldn't disrupt the dressing room at all.

I would take Anelka, Bellers or Cisse back in a heartbeat over either Voronin or Kuyt. IMO, a team needs a few waffling ego boasting ***

Quality is what's needed not "good honest lads". When are Kuyt or Voronin ever going to rip up a defense like the others could?

Of course, the best of both worlds is a certain Michael Owen

I think Kuyt been through alot personally, its only the start of his second season and the best is yet to come. For what hes been through he deserves until the end of the season to be judged imo.

                              That's probably a con for Nic83.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
