    Whats the Point?

Of this place or any other football based forum?

Surely its a place for opinions? different views?

Why can't people question Rafa without being abused?

Its getting very similar to the Houllier years, lines are being drawn and let battle commence. For example I already know whatever happens Tom will defend Rafa until the dying end and CAD will doubt him till its all over.

No one is right and no one is wrong. But for the record I was right on Houllier.

If you were right on Houllier, what is your honest take on Rafa then?

      as was i

and i hear you as i'm pretty skeptical about lots at the moment.

the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.

i'm sure us skeptics are desperate to be proven to be silly doubting thomas's.

I think he's morphing into Houllier personally. Baffling decisions, bizarre aftermatch comments, 'falling out' with one of his star players. He seems determined to make sure everyone is aware we win because of him not the players. But I hope to hell I'm wrong and he'll come good. I don't think I've got the energy to start all over and wait another 5 years with someone else.

I pray to the football gods everynight that he's the one.

You are right in what you are saying, Some believe Rafa is bullet proof after Istanbul. Im fully behind him and back him 100% but have been bemused by some things lately. Lets see what happens.

i don't feel as i did about houllier. i completely wrote houllier off. i've not done that with rafa. but he is really worrying me. and i'm disagreeing with many things he does now on a fairly regular basis.

for those who think i'm a tit, that'll be an encouraging sign

I can see the worry, but personally I think you are over-emphasizing the negatives here and fitting Rafa into Houllier's shoes. Rafa has a lot of other positives that GH hadn't. Tactical nous, is a proven winner, has flexible systems, moves his mistakes on, has broken our defensive records, is good with the media and tends to do well in mind games.

But I am also worried about his overly negative approach at times. Also we lack creativity and movement in attack.

I started the Houllier Out campaign on KT.

                I was proud of that.

Agree with Pete's point as well, lets hope this place doesn't end up like Rawk, where you've got Superfan jobsworths getting stuck in should someone dare criticize Rafa or any other player than Steven Gerrard - who seems to come in for a lot of stick on there for some reason.

By the way with each unconvincing team selection, substitution and average peformance, the more I wonder about Rafa. It's going too far to compare him to Houllier though - who was a complete hack.

It is becoming rather stupid and boring to be honest, all the RAFA bashing, all the stupid threads by Silverfox on how rubbish Kuyt is and what type of strikers we need.
Some people call themselves LFC through and through when in reality they are NOT WORTHY.
SUPPORT the manager and the players FFS and judge by the end of the season.
I for one is sick and tired of this forum which explains my limited posts. ADIOS AMIGOS.

For me, Liverpool is like my family, and EST is like my living room. If you want to come in and question the way my kids behave, OK, as long as you are being constructive and genuinely seeking my good. But if you just want to vent and slag off my family then I'm not going to listen and I'd rather you went to somebody else's house.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

There is a similarity of pattern. Houliier put our defence right first. Then he ran into a few problems when he tried to expand our style of play and he went further and further off the rails until he was babbling. I trace Houllier's problems back to the beginning of the 2003? season - we played very well but gave up late equalisers home to Birmingham and Newcastle. I think Houllier then resorted to what he felt more comfortable with - forward momentum ended and that was that.
Benitez is currently moving to a more expansive game - we must be patient and let him develop it. There are many good signs. If the Houllier years had not happened a lot of people would be less jumpy.

                          And I quickly followed.

I remember those days well...GH was clearly losing the plot and we were going downhill fast yet we still had people on the forums telling us that we were a disgrace for even questioning Houllier.

The same thing is happening now. People slating anyone who's critical of Rafa's decisions and others who literally think Rafa can do absolutely no wrong.
