People can say what they like. That's why I, for one, say it's f*cking boring. You may not agree, of course.

The thread title raises a good question and one I can't answer to my own satisfaction.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I dont always agree with Rafa but i back him. Like playing Torres in the carling cup before 3 big games that were to come over the following 10 days. Especially since he was resting in a league match. Also why Carragher played the same match, too much importance on the diddy cup.

I was also screaming for Pennant to be brough on for Sissoko as soon as Babel was brough on. It would have been good to play 2 wingers against them when they went down to 10 men.

However it is stupid to criticize Rafa for the Gerrard-Lucas substitution because it won us the match. Rafa got that right so the critics should shut up

I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

The one thing that Houiller could not do with LFC was to build a team that could attack as well as it could defend. His teams defended in numbers, and as a result quite frequently we'd end up with one striker isolated up front with no support when he finally did receive the ball. His teams had no quality width and struggled to break down teams that were prepared to sit back. He spent a fortune but ultimately ended up with a team of mediocre players. The only true quality at the club when he left were a couple of lads brought up through the ranks, and Sami Hyypia and Steve Finnan.

There are worrying similarities in the above, but Rafa has definitely added more quality to this team. However, as with Houllier, I'm not sure if he really knows how to build an attacking side and I also do not think he'll admit defeat with the rotation policy if we fail again this year.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Do you think I have to be told not to do those things in someone else's house? I feel this says more about your customary behaviour than it does about mine.

                      Quality post

Can I add that I completely agree With RS here that some people are too quick to stick the boot in to Rafa (and the guilty people know who they are) when they should really be holding fire until the end of the season. Rafa deserves this season before he is judged.

The problem with Rafa bashers is some on here bash him for bashings sake.
They have no idea why he subbed Gerrard but presume from an interview in bad English that they can get inside his head and understand his every decision.

I really can`t understand all the gripes on here after winning the derby.
                        Some just enjoy complaining incestantly.

We're all individuals and all have differing points of view. I have no problem with any point of view as long as it's not shoved in my face with comments like "Yous can all **** off with your blah blah blah etc". Some people on here don't know how to converse without swearing or getting personal.

He seems determined to make sure everyone is aware we win because of him not the players. But I hope to hell I'm wrong and he'll come good. I don't think I've got the energy to start all over and wait another 5 years with someone else.

I pray to the football gods everynight that he's the one.
He is no GH, no chance, GH isn't fit to lace Rafa's shoes.
Rafa is tactically in a one off game, the best manager in the world, he has the potential to be a top class Premier league Ref. For me, Rafa is too much into his stats and fitness in a league where form and momentum is everything, squad rotation is alright as far as I m concerned, but only if the squad is eased into it, we make alot of changes every season, takes time for these players to settle and get used to squad rotation, Rafa's tactics and the Premier League. I can't wait for the pre season where we just make a couple of top class signings ready made for the first team.
We are getting closer though, can't argue with that. When we start taking backwards steps, then everyone will be right to criticise.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
