• It has been confirmed part of Stanley Park will be leased to Liverpool Football Club.
  
  
• City officials have confirmed the move which could see work start early next year on the Reds new stadium.
  
  
• It's thought the area of land will cost £300,000 a year for a 999 year lease.
  
  
• Anfield’s replacement is likely to be open by the start of the 2009 season.
  
  
• Club officials say they’ve worked hard with developers to make sure fans are happy with the designs – we are told the new stadium will include a replica of the Kop.

Nothing new there but it a least it has been confirmed. I guess Sep 28th is the next big step to make sure we get the grant money so we can finally start work on the new stadium!

I thought I was going to be in line for an OAP discount for the first home game at 'New Anfield'.

Yeah I wouldn't mind, as I say, it's not like the Arsenal deal, we'll still be in virtually the same geographical location so it'll still be called Anfield by many

if it generates much needed revenue I have no problem with it being called 'company name stadium' - We as as team/supporters can still 'nickname it what we want and refer to it by the nickname.

Personally if we move from Anfield, that should be it, the end of Anfield. There is and will only be one Anfield.

This is great news that things are beginning to happen, finally! I thought the day when we had the go-ahead to start building would never arrive!

So, the next hurdle is the 28th I guess to get the green light for the funding!
