A total shambles and tonight is a significant one for me, insofar as I'm starting to lose faith in Benitez. Never thought that day would came, to be honest.

The Pako thing just can't be a coincidence.

I don't buy the Pako explanation....by all accounts he was a physical trainer and had little if anything to do with tactics (perhaps other than as a sounding board for Benitez).

Additionally the relationship had been going downhill from last season and we seemed to be doing pretty well at that time.

The thing that bugs me most is how late Benitez seems to leave it before deciding on a change.

Lucas came on with about 20 minutes to go but it was clear we needed someone like him (or Alonso) who could move the ball better than Mascher was.

Again why Beni and Crouch were introduced so late in a supposed 'must win' game is also baffling.

We now need 3 wins from our last 3 games which even if we were on form would be asking a lot.

He's got the rest of the league season to save himself, IMO. It's now become that bad. We must stay in the hunt down to the wire - if not win the damn thing of course. We'll be lucky to finish in the top 5 if this carries on though.

I passed that stage about 2 weeks ago my friend. I hate to say it and I just know i'm gonna get slated here but Rafa is not the man for the job. He won the CL in 2005 with GH's team and his excuse for not mounting a title challenge was he never had the right funds for the right players. Well, he's spent a fair bit this summer and he's still nowhere near a decent team. Ok, we're doing better in the EPL than previous seasons but these players must be thinking 'why the **** should I play my guts out when chances are i'll be dropped for the next game'. I don't give two ****s if I get slated here but he's not the man for the job. I have no idea who is but i'm convinced Rafa's not up to it. He's too stubborn for his own good and as stated previously in this thread it's 'Rafa's way of the highway'. Maybe he should eat some humble pie and bring Pako back.

True to some extent, but the Gonners seem to be doing a good job of it- with their 3rd incarnation of Wenger's vision.

& basics like being able to pass the ball & pick the best players of what we have & change attacking players to change the game are a bare mimimum.
