    Sacrifice the CL?

    Would you be too disappointed if we didn't make the knock out stages and went into the UEFA instead?

    We would be fully focused on the league, playing our strongest 11 in most games while resting some of our bigger ones for the UEFA cup and still having a strong chance to win that competition too.

    I would rather see us finish fourth than third. Less unimportant games and more focus on the league.
    Just believe and you never know what will happen.

    According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

      I wouldn't mind getting knocked out now if we win the league.
      I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

                        Aye but I mean would you sacrifice now for a better CHANCE of winning the league?

                        I don't think I'd be too bothered with an early exit from the CL this year. I really think it would massively improve our chances in the PL.

                        But then again, I'd miss my CL knockout stages!

                              I think we'll actually qualify if we win our last 3, which is easily done.

                              If we don't though, come the end of the season, it could be a blessing in disguise.

                              I'd rather have the UEFA cup than 4th in the group to kep our squad fresh and it will help develop the likes of Leiva, Babel and Leto and if we make it to the semis/finals we will become very interested in another trophy even if it is only the UEFA!
