I'm on what seems to be, a hopeless search for some sort of sense and sensibility.Originally posted by CAD View PostI thought you were trying to keep your own thread alive. What are you doing in here mate?
TBH, i'm in a bit of a daze. Trying very hard to understand, whilst at the same time feeling a small amount of affinity to, some of the madness.

My thread was but a gesture, an offering, much like the 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish were to the starving. That's the one...

I'm here to tell you that we will progress to the last 16
We were NOWHERE near as bad as some posters here make out.
25 shots away is infact rather impressive. Our conversion rate isn't. Neither was the opposition. We will win the last 3. I'm absolutely confident that we will progress to the last 16.
This bodes good for the Arsenal game. Over the years we have seen Rafa at his best on the bounce back. That will most likely happen again Sunday.
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

3 wins will almost guarantee qualification.Originally posted by ARIMAN View PostCan we qualify if we win all our games left?
The only possible way we could miss out is if:
-Marseille finish on 10 points (lose to Porto, win against Besiktas, lose to us),
-We finish on 10 points (win last 3 games)
-Porto finish on 11 points (win against Marseille, lose to us, win against Besiktas)
If we win 1-0 in Marseille, our head to head record with them would be identical, so it would come down to goal difference from all the group games. So the only way we will lose out is if Marseille have a better goal difference.
But if beat them by any score over than 1-0, thats guaranteed qualification.
2 wins and a draw in Marseille could also be enough to qualify if Marseille beat Porto.
-Marseille would finish top with atleast 11 points
-Porto would only be able to get a maximum 8 points
-We would finish on 8 points, and qualify with a better head to head record.
Only Besiktas would be able to deny us but they would have to beat both Marseille and Porto to achieve 9 points.

The point people have missed is that if Marseille get any result at Porto and we defeat Porto while they defeat Besiktas then they are already qualified before the last match where they might considering sending out a 2nd teamOriginally posted by desertscouser View PostWe will not beat Marseille away.
For once I agree with Fredo, if we're going to lose out on qualification we may as well come last in our group. **** the UEFA cup.Play Outwar free webbased MMORPG here

true, we do seem to be better suited at taking the underdog status, rather than out and out favourites.Originally posted by akjs123 View PostIt might be a lucky omen for us. Remember Olympiacos, Luton etc.

I found a post on some other lfc forum that completely describes my emotions on last night (and I still feel like this ... maybe a bit less, but still):
Don't care...
...if I get banned for this post.
Don't care if doesn't read like Dostoevsky.
Fed up of these *****.
Fed up of Kuyt. He can **** off. Had enough of him. Had enough of his first touch. Had enough of ***** defending him by saying "he works hard", you lot can **** off. Rafa can **** off for continually picking him. Don't care that he scored 2 pens against the ****e. Doesn't make him a player, it's players like him who are holding us back.
Voronin. This **** should working in a gaybar not playing centre forward for LFC.
Pennant. Spineless. Ineffectual. Bottler. Fraud. Weak. Get him straight the **** out. He belongs at Middlesborugh FC not Liverpool FC.
Stevie G. Get your arse in gear. Start giving Alex the pipe more often. Don't care, ****in show us something. Had enough of your whiny ****ty face and all. Get it together and ****ing carry us again. God knows we ****in need you to.
**** off Rafa. Bringing on Crouch after 80 minutes when chasing the game. You're ****in having a laugh aren't you? Don't take the piss, I'm not ****in having it. That Sissoko explanation and that sub at the weekend. Try being logical eh fella. So take that Houllier psychobabble ****e and shove it. **** your tactics and all, **** your players, **** your zonal marking, **** your 11 men back at corner kicks, and you so called great ****ing squad. These are ****e, they can't even ****ing pass it, getting out passed by pub teams. Embarrassing. Load of ****e. Stop rotating, stop making up ****e tactics that don't work, stop making stupid illogical subs. Pick the best 11 and let them have a ****ing go.
Fed up of watching a team who constantly are constrained from using any attacking freedom. Bring back Roy Evans. Bring back Razor, Babb, and alehouse special needs **** Steve Harkness. Where's that drying paint when you need it? It's like the Houllier years all over again.
Had enough of our team not being able to pass it. No movement, no creativity. Of those who started tonight - Gerrard, Reina, Babel and Carragher aside - ****in sell all of them. Had enough of all of them. Have I said that already? Don't care.
And finally Andy Gray. I hope you get cancer of the eyes. You're Baldy, your bitter, you take it up the ****ter and you've got a chipolata sized cock you ****in cockmonkey faced ****house nobhead.
**** off mods. Sin bin me you *******s.
