Good thread

I think Babel has no future on the wing - he is clearly a central striker. Showed glimpses of real potential - raw pace and skill - he will come good.

Benni was very good when he came on and I thought Stevie tried too hard but is coming back to form.

bennayoun looks a better player in the short time he's on than pennant .a quality creative player with a decent football brain
gerrard cracking goal tonight unlucky not to get a few more ,is slowly coming back into form.
babel is getting better although still a long way off

We have the bones of a great side. We really do.

Get rid of one of those 2 donkeys up top and bring in a top quality striker and maybe one more wide midfielder with a bit of guile and skill. Cover for centre half too. Hyypia has had his day I'm afraid.

oh, I thought babel was good. his best game for us. and our biggest threat today.
Sg tried too hard int he first half and wasted the ball too much, but he did look like he cared a lot. Nice goal too.
benny was good too, not a winger mind.

• We've got two home games in the CL
• We WILL win in Marseilles
• We'll have another good run in the Carling Cup and be back at Anfield South before too long
• We're not out of the FA Cup yet!
• Alonso is coming back
• Agger is coming back
• Kewell is coming back (OK, that's pushing it...)
• Rafa will appoint a Number 2 soon
• We've signed some promising youngsters who will take time but will be great

And that's just off the top of my head...

I do hope that no 2 comes in soon.
It seems to me that we need some spunk and passion on that bench.

Yossi did play well but will probably be ordinary the next game he starts and Pennant will come on and be better.Both average and inconsistent players.
Yossi is a fine squad player.Pennant is brutal.

Buy more Torres types I say.Sick of average players who should be playing with Boro and Villa.

Babel looked f***ed at the end so can see him not meeting the fitness level.

If we had given him more games maybe he would of been 90 minute match fit.

For me Yossi has to be in the same must start list as Cara, Reina, Stevie G and Torres.
