We have the bones of a great side. We really do.
...bring in a top quality striker and maybe one more wide midfielder with a bit of guile and skill. Cover for centre half too. Hyypia has had his day I'm afraid.

a few positives
bennayoun looks a better player in the short time he's on than pennant .a quality creative player with a decent football brain
gerrard cracking goal tonight unlucky not to get a few more ,is slowly coming back into form.
babel is getting better although still a long way off

I thought we were ok tonight, not brilliant by any stretch, but a lot better than our 2 previous euro games. We created chances, Gerrard could have had a hattrick on another night. They got lucky with the og and waited to hit on the break.

I thought Babel looked good, very lively and his head didnt go down at all. Yes he gave the ball away here and there, but he put the effort in and kept on going.

Yossi looked good as well, better than pennant who looked hesitant.

I agree, we have one world class striker, the rest aren't good enough to clean his boots.

Seriously, out of those of the top four teams in the Premiership would take Voronin, Crouch and Kuyt?
