So far, so good for me. He has been a massive positive from our dire performances this season. He has scored gems against Reading and Wigan and has the ability to change the game by himself. If Rafa had the tactical power we all think he has, he would play Benayoun just off Torres. I see this as our most creative, pacey and attack minded front two. It could be the Rush and Beardsley combo we have been waiting for.

agree 100% thought Yossi was best player on Saturday and figured his early bath had to mean he was playing tonight from the start.
Seemed the only player able to creat in the crowed penalty box.
And has been said Babel looked good until he was absolutly knackeredIts times like these we learn to live again FF

I'm shocked how little love there is for Benayoun. Definitely fewer threads/posts than there should be.
Against Derby outstanding yet again despite playing on the same wing as Riise and Aurelio
. Gerrard and Torres should have scored from his clever runs and cut-backs then he would have had two assists out of this game. OK, should have scored with the header himself but he's already scored enough to be allowed to miss one (God knows we give Torres enough slack - rightfully so).
Such an intelligent player he sees moves that Little Luis could see but he executes them infinitely better. One tit for another.

There were some very negative statements on here around the time we signed him that make hilarious reading now. Definitely a very adequate replacement for 'lil Luis, certainly he seems more effective in the league than Luis was.I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?

Oh, I know the thread you mean. That was a whopper.Originally posted by BigChief View PostI saw some negative statements only a few days back. Couldn't for the life of me understand why. Maybe he has a face you WANT to easily forget when he's not scoring. ;-)
I'm not absolutely convinced that in an ideal world, with new purchases etc, Yossi would be in our first XI. However, and its a big however, he's a proper professional with not inconsiderable ability, who brings something a bit different to the side, and generally has looked like a perfectly astute acquisition for the money.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

He does much more than Pennant than just scoring.
His control of the ball in tight situations is brilliant. He can pick the right pass at will, and execute them nicely too. Quality addition to the squad, no question.Like blood on iron

Spot on Michael - his performances, his vision, his goals should have won over the doubters by now.
He wasn't at his best when he came on today ut grew into the game and was instrumental in the build up to our winner.A humble guy with healthy desire.
