It could be the Rush and Beardsley combo we have been waiting for.
He played him in that role today but with Crouch, I have to say I think he's an ok player but not in the same league as Beardso.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Benayoun is boss. Like him or hate him, but for a midfielder to score two hattricks in one season (well ... two hattricks in the whole career) is absolutely awesome!

Credit to the lad! Without him, we would be pretty much ****ed today and would probably have to play a replay at H&W.

one of the reasons DIC can't buy us is because if we ever had to go to the middle east on a publicity tour he'd not be allowoed in due to his israeli passport ( bloody arabs)

True, I just think it's worth considering. Cisse had a similar sort of stat when it came to 2005-2006, he always seemed to score goals that didn't mean much against very poor sides. I can't remember the exact details but it's something people who wanted him gone used to in their case for selling him.

King Luis had a habit of scoring against some crap teams and some very good ones. Yossi has yet to do the latter, though there are hopefully some big games to come. Plus I will admit that he's far more of a goal threat than the majority of our midfielders, he gets into those positions and follows up rebounds whereas someone like Pennant hardly ever gambles on the ball coming loose.

Yossi can be very proud of this. 10 goals already....he could end up with 15, which would be a fantastic return for essentially a squad player in his first season at the club.

10 goals for Yossi this season

(6 of them against H&W and Besiktas )

DJS the opposition may have been easy but both games were almost deciders, and somebody needed the composure to finish the balls. I didn't see Crouch or Babel step up to the mantle.

Imagine the embarrassment if Benayoun was absent from either game.

We'll get more goals from Benayoun (and Babel, for that matter) if they play more centrally.

They need to be the second striker, and not required to do the mini-marathon every game that Kuyt appears to be asked to do.

And when I say 'play Gerrard on the left', I mean on the left

This is the main difference between playing someone like Benayoun on the wing instead of Pennant, Benayoun offers a genuine goal threat
