I'd like to see us play with a front three of Benayoun, Babel and Torres with Gerrard, Lucas and Alonso in midfield playing a fluid 4-3-3 with an attacking mindset/gameplan.
    I hate Polanski

clutching at straws with babel imo. better with yossi behind and gerrard on the right, that way yossi and gerrard can interchange. leaves us with nothing on the left really and a very week bench with limited attacking options.

thats what i'd like to see

Yossi, Stevie, Torres and Babel all are capaable of playing left, right and center.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

Babel doest have a great eye for goal, he cant hit a barn door. Its worth ago though your right, i dont rate Babel though.

                Torres and Babel
                Torres and Benayoun

Those are our most interesting / potentially great partnerships in my opinion.

It's a little harsh on Voronin perhaps as he's had a decent start to his Liverpool career, but that's the way it goes. As for Kuyt, well, I'm a little tired of him at the moment - perhaps he needs to take a step back and re-examine the position he was bought for. He's almost like our version of Alan Smith.

Babel is more of a striker then a wide player, he would be the perfect link man, much better then Kuyt and Crow.

Babel is willing to take players on and have a shot.
                  We come not to play.

Funny you should say that I came to pretty much the same conclusions today, while watching Chelsea.

                      I'd go:
                      --------El Jefecito-----
                      ------Gerrard------Alonso
                      Kuyt----Torres----Babel

That's a better front 6 than chelsea have IMO.

If Rafa likes his cautious attacking which we know he does then why not Benayoun behind Torres- perfect number 10. Reminds me of Beardsley and it could be the sort of link up attacking line we have been looking for in a long time

I think your right. Watching Babel in the U21's he always played just off the front man and wondered from left to right.

For some reason, and I think Morph alluded to it elsewhere, Rafa wants to use his hole player as the one who holds up the play, (hence Morph's reference to 451), Both Babel and Ben Onion would be great #10s, but Rafa seems to want his #10 to play in front of the ball and hence with his back to goal. That would suit neither Yossi nor Babel.

You mean to hold the ball the way Kuyt does?

Benayoun doesn't have the strength, he knows that but what he does have is more intelligence and pace to keep the ball and bring others in the game

Babel is more direct and would be brilliant for a counter attack. He could drop deep when we are defending and counter at his own free will

Yeah, for some reason that is integral to Rafa's tactics and TBH only Kuyt and Voronin are made for it.

If we went for a formation which suited a classic #10 we could be using: SG, Ben Onion, Babel, Torres and any number of continental players we could bring in eg (Deco, Elano, Riqueleme)
