I did a bit of digging around at work today and spoke to a Journo that reports for Man City and he clarified a few points that happened over the summer with Crouch whilst taking the unadulterated piss out of me for last nights performance.
City did attempt to buy Crouch in the summer and an offer was accepted for him. In real terms City offered up the full asking price upfront, which would have massively affected the summer transfer pot. It would appear that the stumbling block was Crouchy, who either didn't want to go to Man City or the salary wasn't enough - Who knows !!!!!

Will City retrun in the January window, he is unsure but he did say his price may have dropped due to his inactivity. Will Crouch be now willing to go ? - Again who knows.

One tiny point though unrelated to the above is that it is alledged ,a bust up happned on the plane home last night. Can anyone else confirm ?

Sven would want to sign him, yes, because he rates him.

He's obviously on his way, whether it's to City or somewhere else. He isn't being rotated - he's being snubbed. No wonder he's pissed off - he's being continually snubbed for two strikers who offer little or no goal threat. Rafa clearly doesn't like his attitude and I think he's grossly mis-managed Crouch of late.

It's just not right mate. Snubbed, frozen out...whatever you want to call it. Crouch was told he'd "get his games" but he isn't. His treatment has been extremely shoddy.

He should clearly start on Sunday - whether Torres is fit or not - but you can almost guarantee that he won't.

Why? On what basis?

Is he being kept out by a couple of **** hot strikers who are scoring goals? Are they doing a better job than Crouch did last season? NO. Are they ****.

You can't cite his pre-season form or his 'form' this season. When you play once every ****ing blue moon, you simply cannot display anything like your best form.

A better barometer is, of course, last season when he got a fairer crack of the whip and more games (although still not enough). He was our best striker last term and there's no way he's suddenly our worst.

Pennant took crouchy's seat next to the emergancy exit on the plane so Riise started flicking his ears as he was sat behind him, Crouchy started the water works so Stevie stepped in and told pennant to give him the seat.

It worked out ok in the end

Maybe Rafa isn't pleased with Crouch's attitude or effort?

I think he has looked a bit slack when he has played. Ok, he has no match practice, but still, effort should not be an issue.
That's the way I see it anyway.

If true then it seems Rafa is pissed off with him for not leaving and is forcing him out.
Harry Redknapp got the best out of Crouch and has done so with so many other average players.Hopefully Harry will bid for him and he could be Kanu's replacement.

if whats said is true and City's offer was accepted then this is Rafa showing him to accept the next offer.

was citey's money earmarked for Torres's partner - Rafa did say if he had money he wouldn't of gone for Voronin, was Crouch the fall guy to get the money option as Voronin was already signed?

Always wondered if Pako leaving, recent form might be down to Crouch being left out.
