I don't think he was to be honest.

Bellamy on his day is unplayable. I'm not convinced Kuyt is.

i'm starting to think those might not be the instructions given to him by Rafa anymore.

Because he spends so much time outside the box.

and if he wasn't following instructions, he'd be booted out like baros was

exactly Rafa just wants to play 4-5-1, but is trying to fool everyone into thinking he's playing with 2 strikers, it might work if it wasn't blatantly obvious that Kuyt isn't good enough to do the role he's being asked, which brings the system into question even more

Yeah but Bellamy's day is only once every two/three months. How often did he ever really turn it on for us?

Kuyt may be lacking in inspiration but he usually offers cosistency of effort.

I think some of this is down to Rafa's tactics. Our forward players spend more time outside the penalty area than they do inside. Saying that there's issues all over the park.

The lack of pace at centre back, the lack of attacking full backs who are comfortable in possession of the ball and look to get forward at every opportunity, the lack of a genuine wide player who can unlock defences, a decent forward who can link the midfield to the front line and wingers.

I think Rafa has looked at bringing in players on a budget as opposed to saying there's so and so and he would be great playing just behind Torres. He still needs 3/4 players before the he considers the team to be genuine contenders.

I wish Rafa would get him playing further forward. Kuyt's no predator by any means, but when he is in that kind of mindset he does pose a threat. We saw it when he first arrived, for a couple of months he was scoring a goal every other game and coming up with assists as well. Then he slid further down the pitch with every game, and his first instinct increasingly became to hold it and play a simple sideways ball to someone.

He does that well, but let him do it when he feels that's the right thing to do - at the moment it feels like he's been instructed that he is to do that every single time he gets the ball. Unleash the ****er a bit, Rafa. Let him have the freedom to turn and pick a more positive pass or **** it goalwards, we'd be so much better for it. Give us some variety and predictability. Surrender a bit of your control, delegate a bit of tactical responsibility to the players in the form of a bit of freedom!

It's a mystery that Rafa plays Kuyt as a hard working attacking midfielder.

If you look at our squad then Gerrard is probably the best one doing that job. Work hard in a free position behind the striker. That would also free up a place for Lucas or Alonso in the middle.

Kuyt isn't any good either in the position he plays. He really don't seem to know exactly what to do. That probably depends on that he isn't used to play in that position.

He should play as a striker or not play at all.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think Kuyt is a far better striker than he is being given credit for. It is simply a case of Rafa not playing him in the right position. Id like Kuyt to be playing on the shoulder of the last man, he is ****ing strong, good in the air and can ****ing finish, hes just temporarily forgotten how! Rafa plays people out of position regularly and will continue to do so, I cant criticize Kuyt as personally I dont think hes been given a fair crack at being a Liverpool striker. As for the rest of them (Torres aside) id like them all to be shipped out...voronin - out, Crouch - out, Momo - out, Pennant - out, Hyypia - coach, Kewell - out, **** it, time to get shot of the **** and rather than buy more squad players get some ****ing first teamers in!!
