    Pennant out for over two months

    Liverpool have confirmed Jermaine Pennant is to undergo surgery this weekend on a stress fracture of his right tibia.
    Club spokesman Ian Cotton said: "For the last eight weeks Jermaine has undergone intensive treatment at Melwood between matches for the injury.

    "But following an acute exacerbation of the problem during the game against Besiktas it has now been decided he requires surgery.

    "We anticipate Jermaine will be out for approximately 10 weeks."

    According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

              Maybe this might have been the reason for his dip in form???? Hope he recovers fast, I as hoping he would play against Arse as he wants to prove a point.
              I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

                Was thinking exactly that mate. He was playing very well at the start of the season only to stall recently. That would explain it.

                  He's come off injured in a lot of games lately and his form has suffered. Hopefully the operation will clear everything up
