    No wonder his form dipped
for me this is fantastic news, although many others obviously disagree based on the replies to this thread.

I think Pennant is a waste of space, and hopefully this will give Yossi a proper run, and may also force Rafa to focus on a quality wide player in the transfer window.

Bollocks. That means we won't be able to sell him in January.

Some stupid replies about Pennant being ****e in there. He obviously was playing through the pain barrier.

Bad news IMO. Hope he makes a swift recovery - he was playing some great stuff at the start of the season.

Could be a good thing Gerrard being out on the right. I don't really like Yossi out there, he's a bit like Luis Garcia and is out of position. I guess Gerrard is out of position as well but I think it would be better that he plays out there and Alonso and Mascherano share the central midfield duties with Lucas. In saying that Jermaine has improved so much that he will be missed (his early season form anyway)

Hope he gets fit before the transfer window and Sothgate or Bruce takes him off us.
Never rated him before he came, never during his time here and he will never amount to much.He felt hard done by when he did'nt get in the England squad but what does an attacking player who rarely scores and assists expect.
I despair. The man plays with an injury and he`s still lambasted.

Pennant and Arbeloa have probably been our best players August through to September

I think some on here think you have to cost 20 mil or be a scouser to be a good player for us.Pennant wasn`t high profile enough to deserve to play for us.crouch was the same unfortuneatly.

Cos he had a fractured leg you muppet, and his performances prior to this injury had been decent enough

His performances has been decent but not more than that. We need a better right winger or right wing back, whatever player Rafa want, than Pennant.

I would say that Rafa want a wing back if you look at the players he has tried to sign and that means no place for Pennant.

Cicinho and Alves points to that Rafa want a right wing back.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

he's fine as a backup option, which is what I always expected he would be
