    I think we'll miss Pennant.

He mightn't be the best winger in the world but he adds balance and natural width to the team. I think we always look a better team when he plays.

Sure he can improve in some areas, but so can most players.

Some of the stick he takes on here is ridiculous.
A humble guy with healthy desire.

I am shocked that so many people believe that Pennant is good enough for our first team. Its a sorry state of affairs shows just how low our standards have dropped

Moaners won't ever be happy ! That's a fact. We should create a forum just for them.

So you think it's ok for a side challenging for the league to have winger who never scores and rarely assists
We are the best team in the world and should have high standards.
Pennant was signed when we had little money and around the same time we were in for Stelios and Solano. Now that is a sad state of affairs.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

It's clear to see. This bull**** that he did'nt cost 20M and he was never good enough for some has nothing to do with it.

League winning sides for the last decade have had wingers who scored loads of goals and created just as many.Beckham,Giggs,Ronaldo,Ljunberg,Pires,Cole,Duf f,Robben to name a few.

Pennant is a nothing player compared to them.
Excuse me for being realistic and seeing exactly what he gives us:whatever:
he played consistently well for us since Jan of this year right till the end of last season bar the odd one or two games, he started the season well for us in the first 2-3 games. now if you look at it his treatment started 8 weeks ago which was about the start of september, and since then he's either not played too well or hasn't played. This also could be one of a number of factors for our poor form since that international break.

The thing people miss with Pennant is a lot of times he doesn't get assists because we very rarely score directly from a cross, the strikers we have just don't do that. What happens more often than not is Pennant whips the ball in, it gets headed on or passed and then the following player scores which means Pennant doesn't get his assist. Look at the build up to the second pen v Everton for an example of this.

True he doesn't score many but his delivery is excellent and it's not his fault that our strikers or our system don't suit this type of ball.

Good wingers put the ball right to strikers.Look you think he is obviously good and so does Rafa but I think he is not.

It's all about opinion and he does very little to impress me.He has limped off in the games against Spurs and Besiktas and I thought he bottled it and he always does this when the chips are down.He did it last year against Bordeaux at Anfield when he had a shocker too.Alot of this is in his head and he is a week character and not a winner.

Look at Terry(the big sack of ****) in Valencia. He played totally through the pain barrier and had a stormer. When the going gets tough real men come to the fore and take responsibility and little boys hide.

Pennant should get out there if he cared and put his body on the line and have his op in the summer.Would Carra or Stevie wimp out?

he is capable of great delivery, but to many ballls are just floated and not whipped in. BUT to be good enough for us specially as we dont have many goalscorers throughout the team our wingers HAVE to be goal threats, not only does he not score enough, he NEVER looks threatening

I think he's good, I'll concede tho that I only think his level is squad player

You surely aren't serious about this limping off business, he's got an injury that'll keep him out for 10 weeks, that's been getting treated for the last 8 weeks of course he's been limping

Look at Terry(the big sack of ****) in Valencia. He played totally through the pain barrier and had a stormer. When the going gets tough real men come to the fore and take responsibility and little boys hide.

Now you're talking complete and utter ****, it's better for him to have the op and be out for ten weeks, rather than break his leg and be out for 6 months, it's nothing to do with wimping out, you can surely see this?

I agree as a goal threat he doesn't look threatening, but he's the only one in squad capable of taking the ball to the goal line and whipping in a cross (babel maybe but still early days), depending on who we are playing him or Stevie are our best right sided options and I think it's a pity we don't have him as an option for a few months, particularly given our run till crimbo

He hides when the going gets tough.Think back to the last minute of the derby after Lescott dived and the ball breaks to the edge of the box.Pennant comes onto it like a train and sees one Everton defender back and sees the glory. He moved well for a guy with a serious injury.

Pressure on now and he goes missing. What a character.

Shanks told Tommy Smith to take of his poof bandage and Rafa should tell Pennant to grow a pair and get on with it.
