The poor football is down to a lack of confidence. Not because of Rafa's methods. We played great football at times at the beginning of the season, notably against Villa and against Chelsea.

Granted your opinion is fine and you're right to have it, but i dont think he's been as bad as some people say.Originally posted by PostmanPat View PostIf I feel like I have something to say I will express my opinion. It's a forum and not everybody will agree. You keep believing he is Liverpool standard and I will keep hoping Rafa brings in a top class replacement.
I want another winger in no doubt the ones we have arent world class just squad players
When you feel like you're done, you are not alone........

agreed, but still doesnt mean he ius good enough for usOriginally posted by Morphorino View PostI agree as a goal threat he doesn't look threatening, but he's the only one in squad capable of taking the ball to the goal line and whipping in a cross (babel maybe but still early days), depending on who we are playing him or Stevie are our best right sided options and I think it's a pity we don't have him as an option for a few months, particularly given our run till crimbo

again i'm not saying he's goo enough for the first team week in week out at the level we should be at, but he's a decent squad player, and he's probably the best option we have out there of current personelOriginally posted by red g View Postagreed, but still doesnt mean he ius good enough for us

We should be looking at Ronaldo or Ribery class wingers. One or two wingers that can win you games on their own.
We need all our attacking players to be goal threats week in week out.
I don't think anyone can say that Pennant offers the above.
Right now if a team takes out Gerrard and Torres then our goal threat are more or less gone.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

You can add Nasri and Hamsik to that list.Originally posted by thesilverfoxlfc View PostSilva,Mancini and Quaresma are the ones that are out there
Pennant is a quality player but not a high quality player.
We need more goal threats.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

i think his personal life gets in the way of his football tbh
best player on the pitch against ac milan in may. i think if he prioritised football over his social life and the bint who throws him out of his house he would be awesome
the boy needs to grow up or ship out
he is a low grade proffesional, and it shows, big imeps3 fanclub member#1

kewell of now ...yes. watched him in the asian cup a few months ago...absolutely appalling. but then again majority of the aussie team were.but unlike pennant kewell did deliver in his first season with us. he was indeed our "egde of the seat" signing for a period of time but i just dont see that in pennant though ...dont think he is ever gonna come good . We must not forget though that he was signed towards the end of the transfer window ..rafa having failed to land alves.an obvious back up plan pennant .so its a matter of time till we see the last of him.made matter worse for himself with that insane tackle in that match against porto. could have been early curtains for us in CL.benayoun and babel are good enough for NOW...pennants absence will hardly be feltOriginally posted by thesilverfoxlfc View PostJust like Kewell then
Shows how good or wingers are or should i say how much they are off the pace in terms of our rivals

Not badOriginally posted by Quinncy View PostAlright there mate???

It as a disgrace that they binned us
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06
Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

everytime i read this i always think what game was you watching. i was at the game mate and the tactics were very clear. they would not allow riise any space on the left to beat them and prior to the final, riise had been a very big part of our success in europe, so much in fact, that milan committed gatusso to play defence against him. they conceded open play to pennant and give him time and space and almost dared pennant to beat them. he ****ing failed miserably cos he cant play a final ball and its unbelievable that people think he can cross a ball. i dont know what your standards are for best player on the pitch, but mine are ball winning, distribution and a solid head for the game. pennant looks like 7 million pounds of potential and doesent look nowhere near filling that potential. wenger knew what he was doing when he sanctioned him away from arsenal and unless pennant can shift up a gear, (which i dont think he can cos the amount of time he has been here to prove it) then he is not what we need and are looking for on the right hand side. barring further injuries, pennants presence will not be missed
