    Freddy Kanoute

Didn't set the league alight by any means when he was over here but I always thought he was a tidy player and always had time for him.

Now, since he went to La Liga, anyone that follows that league will tell you that he is a MASSIVELY improved player. He has a lot of the attributes needed to be a top quality striker and his general play has increased big time.

It looks like Crouch will be on his way and Kanoute is a similar (except better) player. Good header of the ball and a far better finisher than Crouch and we may even get him for less than what we recieve from Man citeh for Crouch.

I think he would be worth a gamble to partner Torres. Now, he wouldn't be my first choice by any means but who better would be AVAILABLE for our bankroll?

La Liga followers, what do you think? If you've hardly seen him since he left the prem, believe me he's vastly improved.

I was going to say if he is the same Kanoute that left the prem then no way, but if he is vastly improved then may be he is worth a look. Apparently he is Ramos' #1 target for Spurs.

Good shout, but I just fear that he does not have the stomach for a fight - when we are doing well he would shine but I think he would go missing in some games.

Rather have Anelka as an out and out striker, or the expensive but creative Aguero.
        We come not to play.

Fair point but you never know. We wouldn't have to start him in every game anyway! deffo a good squaddie.

He has improved but has always seemed a bit lazy to me. The slower pace in Spain suits him more. If we were going for a striker in January I'd rather go for Anelka.

Diego Forlan has looked very good in Spain too.

Some players are just better suited to other league.

I wouldn't spend any money on Kanoute.

Kanoute was far better than Forlan in the premiership though. And generally The French/French colonies adapt better to the prem than south Americans.

I dont think Kanoute has improved, rather that he is playing in a league with a slower pace of football and its perfect for his game.
If my memory is correct, Houllier was sniffing around him some years ago, i didnt want him then and i wouldnt now.
