    Injury Update

Haven't seen this posted anywhere else yet...

    TORRES INJURY BLOW
    Steve Hunter 29 October 2007
Liverpool have been dealt a blow with the news that Fernando Torres has been ruled out of action for three weeks with an adductor injury.
A Liverpool spokesman said: "A scan this morning has shown a tear to a different adductor muscle to his original injury and we expect Fernando to be out for about three weeks.

"As for Xabi Alonso, an x-ray showed a fracture to the fourth metatarsal in his left foot. Xabi will be seen by a consultant tomorrow after which we will have a much better idea of the timescales involved.
"With regards to Javier Mascherano, he had an x-ray which has showed no bone injury, but he will receive intensive treatment on extensive bruising in his foot."

Xabi and Torres. 2 of our 4 best and most influential players. The league looks a way away now.

          Oh well.

Kuyt and Voronin up front and Momo in midfield.

Only misses Cardiff, Blackburn, Besiktas and Fulham then theres a two week break. Annoying and not what we need but not disastrous.

                      Good point, well made.

Alonso on the other hand may well be missing for a bit longer.

Thats bad news, it was a risk playing them yesterday and the risk has certainly not paid off.

If Rafa finally plays Lucas regularly he could be a adequate replacement for Xabi, we are going to miss Torres badly, Kuyt and Crow the twin strikers who have a scoring goals phobia will lead the line .
                        We come not to play.

Time for Crouch to be given a chance. I reckon he'll do the business for us in Torres's absence. I would be astounded if he doesn't get a run of games now given how poor the Kuyt / Voronin partnership is.

Could do with them for this little number though

I think we'll beat them easy at Anfield to be honest, with or without him and Xabi.
