I don't think losing Torres for these winnable games is a massive blow as I think we can be quite potent with Crouch. There was a huge improvement in the second half yesterday attacking wise when Crouch came on and we had a spear-head up front.
I'm more worried about Xabi's absence to be honest.
Xabi really knitted it together for us, no one can do the same for us.

Yeah I was just reading and thinking with the Liverpool of the 80's you could say 'these are winnable games' but not with this side. **** we've only won one game at Anfield this year in the league and four awayOriginally posted by dom9 View PostBlackburn will be a hard game though, make no mistake.

Yes but we had lost four matches by this point last season and this season we are currently six points better off than at the same stage last season. Not to bad, eh?Originally posted by Radar View PostYeah I was just reading and thinking with the Liverpool of the 80's you could say 'these are winnable games' but not with this side. **** we've only won one game at Anfield this year in the league and four away

Well, he can be out for a long time thenOriginally posted by Morphorino View Posti believe it was
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

It looks like my girlfriend had right
Alonso out up to three months
RAFA'S WORST NIGHTMARE: Anfield injury crisis Fernando & Xabi head crock list
David Maddock 30/10/2007
Pepe Reina describes them as "a pain in the backside" - but Liverpool's injury problems could have much more serious consequences.
For the club that has been reeling in recent weeks from a slump in form that reached almost crisis proportions in Europe, the last thing they needed was the loss of key players.
Yet that is what happened as the Anfield club emerged from its turmoil with a spirited performance against Arsenal - only to be plunged into fresh troubles.
Midfielder Xabi Alonso limped away from the fray with a foot injury that has been confirmed as a repeat fracture of the same bone that had previously sidelined him for more than a month.
This time, the portents are even gloomier, with the influential Spaniard likely to be out for up to three months.
A worrying blow indeed, particularly with fellow midfielder Javier Mascherano also limping off in the game with a badly bruised foot.
In addition, Alonso's fellow Spain international Fernando Torres has also been ruled out, after he too lasted just half a game into his own comeback from injury.
Yesterday, the diagnosis was another torn adductor muscle, which means he'll be out for at least three weeks.
Reds keeper Reina said: "The injuries are a big problem. We have had far too many in the last few months.
Now we have another injury to Fernando and another to Xabi - it's a pain in the backside. But we must keep fighting."
With Jermaine Pennant also out for at least 10 games, Liverpool's season looks to be disintegrating. Especially as it is no exaggeration to say their fate could be decided over the next month.
They have three must-win Champions League games. And with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all coming into form, they have vital Premier League matches that must be won if they are to retain any title pretensions.
AND HERE'S ANOTHER WORRY
Liverpool have forgotten how to win at Anfield after their goal glut over five days in late August and early September. The Reds ran riot over Toulouse and Derby - but have had three home draws and a defeat since
Aug 19 Prem Chelsea 1-1
Aug 28 CL Toulouse 4-0
Sep 1 Prem Derby 6-0
Sep 22 Prem Birmingham 0-0
Oct 3 CL Marseille 0-1
Oct 7 Prem Tottenham 2-2
Oct 28 Prem Arsenal 1-1

I fear that our chanced at the league are gone now with Alonso out again for a long period, but I will not concede anything yet.

Awful news.
However it gives players like Lucas the chance to be the hero. The boy has talent now lets see what he can do. We should have Crouch as our main focal point up front and use Lucas in Xabi's position. We have a strong squad and it's up to the boys who haven't been getting a regular game to step up to the plate. If we can still be in it when these boys come back then I think we've got a great chance.**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.
