    Xabi Alonso

whatever it is thats affecting his performances lately had better stop soon.

we are really missing this guy at the top of his game.

he'll come in for plenty of stick for today, he looked off the pace and his distribution was uninspired and often predictable.

like i say, hopefully this is temporary.

    ynwa xabi.

Think we need to rest him.

The funny thing is, Rafa has done this previously, don't know why he didn't today.

RAFA must drop Alonso, been poor for 6 matches now. Let him gain his form with the ressies. Nuff said.

the only good news today then.

he did play one delightful ball for stevie's 2nd effort off the post.

it seems to be the bread and butter passes he's struggling with.

while we're talking about passing, momo is starting to ping the ball around quite well

Alonso eager to remain a Red

By Alex Dunn - Created on 9 Sep 2006

Xabi Alonso is ready to commit the best years of his career to Liverpool having spoken of his utmost contentment at Anfield.

The classy Spaniard is arguably one of The Premiership's finest imports, with his promptings from the centre of the field a key part of Liverpool's success in the past few seasons.

Alonso's existing deal still has two years left to run and while conceding talks have yet to commence with regards a new one, it is not something the 24-year-old would be adverse to discussing.

When quizzed on whether he would be interested in a deal that matches his first contract of five years, Alonso admitted a similar accord could be struck when the time comes to discuss an extension.

"My contract runs for two seasons after this one so there's been no talk of another one," he told the Daily Mail.

"But I am still settled at Liverpool and I feel a part things and that is important for any player.

"You can see what the manager is trying to achieve and he is making progress and I want to stay part of that.

"Knowing the manager, he will be looking not only to maintain that but take it to a another level, so if there's a chance of another contract, why not?

"It's a home from home and if I'm on Merseyside for a good few years yet, there will be no complaints from me."

Absolutely. We have the squad to cope without him for a few games. Less of this bull **** playing Gerrard on the right. Play him in the middle where he should play and put Pennant on the right. A few games in the reserves and I'm sure Alonso will be back to his best because at the moment he does not deserve to play.
