Young guns (not the porno movie)

So we pretty much all know it by now. Some knew before others but it's becoming increasingly clear that we will not really challenge this year. Third or fourth looks realistic. For those of use who have been supporting for a long time it doesn't really matter. Of course it 'matters' but we have learned to be patient the hard way.

What really looks interesting to me is the prospects Rafa has brought in. I would like to dedicate a thread to these youngsters who will carry us forward in two or three years. What can we expect from the heavy and time consuming investment we have made in the academy since Rafas reign started?

Eccleston looks like a very exiting prospect.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The best prospect in the acadamy imo.

He is big, strong, quick, skillfull and is a real poacher infront of goal.

Altho i have only seen clips of him on the acadamy program and when he come on in the youth cup

I've heard lots about Alexander Kacaniklic. Left footer with skill. He's from Sweden. You know about him AF?

Ajdarevic was supposedly a striker when he was brought in (if I remember correctly), however he's been moved down to midfield. He's a very elegant, classy player - reminds of someone like Berbatov in the way he creates time and space for himself and has good vision.

Spearing was a CB originally, but because he's a midget was moved into midfield. I'd say he's a bit like Gerrard in his style. Aggressive, doesn't shy away from a tackle, decent passing and loves get forward and have pops at goal.

              I might add more later.

Amoo is quite good, him and Eccelstone have a good partnership. Bruna or whatever his name is are meant to be good as well as the two swedes.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was supposed to be one of Swedens top young prospects and that means that he is rated very highly.

Sweden has many young gems out there. Look at Sebastian Larsson for example. He wasn't one of our top young stars but he is now playing in the PL for Birmingham.

Another one is playing for Inter, Goran Slavkovski, not in the first team but not far from it.

Francisco Duran is mean to be something of a star in the making, he only got about 2 games for us before he picked up an injury and that was the end of his season, I hear he's due back any time now tho, and think we'll hear more of him as the season goes on

I had hope El Zahr would break through, but he seems to have not really progressed.
