Anybody else think that it's typical that we are about to have a debate about burn-out because it might negatively affect England players? (see the BBC website right now and listen to 5 live at 7pm).No doubt the BBC will wheel out ex-pros who will tell us that if we want England to win a world cup the players need to be protected. BUT - when Rafa employs precisely the same logic to justify his use of rotation - keeping players fresh throughout the whole season so that Liverpool FC can win trophies - the same pundits and media buffoons mock him. They are hypocrites and simpletons most of them.

Not really - the England team doesn't play 60 games a season - thank ****, 1 is bad enough!Originally posted by Elvis View PostAnybody else think that it's typical that we are about to have a debate about burn-out because it might negatively affect England players? he is obviously talking about the club vs. country debate. it the other way around this time, when rafa talked about this he was 'moaning' but when it concernes england it's news. either that or they are trying to find some place to put the blame other than on macclaren..Originally posted by carheex View PostThat's as maybe but i'm guessing that the debate is about the england team, not the liverpool team?"I have decided to escape, to defy the shogun. It's not just about club v country - it's about double standards in the media. The rotation idea is about taking a long term view of players health - some people in the media are prepared to do this is some contexts and not others. It's also about xenophobia in the English media. For example - Steve Claridge. He hates Rafa, hates the fact that he is innovative and not English - he slags rotation but will probably back plans to help national teams perform.Originally posted by Diego View Posthe is obviously talking about the club vs. country debate. it the other way around this time, when rafa talked about this he was 'moaning' but when it concernes england it's news. either that or they are trying to find some place to put the blame other than on macclaren..

No - it's about players in general - including cricketers and rugby players too. Check the article. If you have players fit for their countries they will probably also be fit for their club sides - both would benefit from fewer games.Originally posted by carheex View PostThat's as maybe but i'm guessing that the debate is about the england team, not the liverpool team?

I had to laugh at the panel on Sky Sports covering the Carling Cup games last night.
A few of them were having a go at Rafa(big surprise there)for playing Carragher and Gerrard in last night's game with Cardiff. Yet Grant plays Terry and Lampard against Leicester...what's said about that? Sweet **** all.
Pathetic."Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

Typical poor journalism, one the one hand England's players are facing burn out by playing too many games in a short period of time, however on the other hand, Benitez rotation policy is pointless etc etc and not good for the players either.Quit your jibber jabber!!!
Jermaine, you know the song Billie Jean...is it about the tennis player??

Does anyone care what the media is saying about us though? I don't give a ****.
Rafa is the whipping boy at the moment because are results have been poor (except the last 2 league games). If the team was doing better, they'd be picking on someone else, and they will.
