They were only loud because it was a game against the league leaders and so much was at stake, it had nothing to do with the formation that Rafa chose.

If he'd picked that formation against any other team that wasn't in the top four the crowd would still have been quiet. My point is the fans should be up for every game not just the ones against the big boys, that's not good enough.

      Don't agree

They were loud at the start, as they usually are and the players responded and so the cycle continued.

The opponents are relevant, but if we'd played safety first football and sat back the crowd would soon have gone quiet or worse started being negative.

The crowd needs the team to do their bit and boring defensive safety first football doesn't help anyone.

Were the crowd quiet against that top 4 team from Derby?

They weren't actually, I remember listening to that game on the radio and it was 0-0 for quite a while and the crowd were getting restless and frustrated and were pretty quiet.

Only once we'd scored they loosened up and started supporting the team. I know the way we play is defensive but that's the way Rafa likes to play. He WILL though look to adapt, that's two games in a row now that's changed formations in matches to what is quite an attack minded line up, I know the quality of the opposition wasn't the great the other night but he was still willing to experiment which is encouraging.

Ryan Babel has said for a long time that he's wanted to be given a chance up front and he's finally been given that opportunity. And apparently he linked up quite well with Crouch. Let's just see what happens, we just need the crowd to be up for the home games a bit more, to be only be supporting the team at home European games it's not good enough.

It's all hand in hand though mate, you can't create that sort of atmosphere by not standing up,it's not human nature to do it,when you are excited you stand up,it's natural i'm afraid
