    Benny Mcarthy

It looks increasingly likely that crouch will be sold, and forums all over seem to be talking over who should replace him. One name that seems to mentioned only on rare occasions is the gentleman above of Blackburn.

He will be 30 in November (12th) and therefore should not cost more than £8m (?), and would in my opinion would love to play for us (chance of playing for CL and title).

I'd like him, I've rated him for a while now since his attitude has improved but doesn't seem like a kind of player that Rafa would sign.

Always had tons of talent just seems a strange character at times, not anymore but in the past. If we signed him I'd be happy though, won't happen.

Agreed. He strikes me as a bit of a Cissé type - lazy, does **** all unless the ball's in the box, bad attitude.

Although his record for Blackburn has been very good. He's scored some crackers lately.

I'd give McCarthy a miss, though I've absolutely no idea who we should be looking at to replace the obviously departing Crouch.

Move Babel upfront or sign Aguero.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Funny you should say that. My only thoughts on this subject have been those two. Why not do both? Use Babel as a striker, sign Aguero , flog one of Kuyt or Voronin as well as Crouch, and use the one we keep as a 4th choice striker who gets trotted out only for League Cup games.

          Torres
          Aguero
          Babel
          Kuyt or Voronin

          Nice.

Although I know you're not serious he does look to have the skills to pay the bills, but he needs a few good meals in him.

I don't really see any point to be honest.

We now have a large squad full of options and if some of those options aren't good enough, we should be looking at out and out first team players. What's the point of replacing average squad players with better than average squad players?

That's what we've been doing for years now and it doesn't work.

                          .
That's exactly the type of player we DO want. I've seen enough Kuyt's and Heskey's that "work hard" but fail miserably to do the most important thing about their job. If someone can bang in the goals, sign them up!

I'd take his strike partner Santa Cruz, who for £3.5m looks a bargain.

I think you might be right about Aguero. Not sure when, be nice in January but i suspect it might be a year or two. I do believe we might be his next destination though.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24
