I just don't get it either mate. At Valencia his teams were based on passing it on the floor, and players moving and everyone chipping in with goals.

Yet with us it just doesn't happen. We're getting outpassed by a team who were put together for a fraction of the cost of our side.

Just think about this one; Santa Cruz and McCarthy cost less than Dirk Kuyt.

He did inherit a very good team at Valencia though!!

What a dire performance. Our movement is atrocious, Blackburn are just sitting in their half with two banks of four and we can't handle it. We had one shot on goal as a result of a counter attack.

Sissoko and Mascherano simply doesn't work. They can't create anything positive in possession. Lucas had to start today and should start every time Alonso doesn't, I'll keep saying it until my lips fall off, Gerrard is not a playmaker and cannot carry a team in this situation.

Benayoun is our only positive performer and has done well when he actually managed to get the ball from a team mate. I'd love to have my side playing against Kuyt every week, it's just so easy to defend against him. Push the defence a bit forward and get stuck into him when he receives the ball and he's hopeless.

What do we now? If I could make 3 subs this early I honestly would but first thing is to take off Sissoko for Lucas to develop some sort of passing game that is actually effective and threatening. Then I'd put on Crouch for Kuyt to to actually make Blackburn's defence concerned somewhat with the striker they're marking. Finally I'd bring in Kewell for Babel to add some width and crossing ability because we have none of that, especially with Riise on the left. Most important, give Benayoun the ball because he's the only creative player we have on the pitch.

I think we need to be realistic. The way we're playing, a top 4 finish is a more accurate target than a title challenge.
