Initially I scoffed at these rumours of some kind of bust up, but it seems there's a lot of smoke surrounding his absence from the squad.

When it first transpired we were going to sign him, this was one of the eventualities I feared. I was sort of 'against' his signing but it was something I hoped I'd be proved totally wrong about.

Maybe we were all naive to think he'd suddenly tone down his act because he was at the club he "loves"? The guy has a track record for acting like a prick and I'm beginning to wonder if something has indeed kicked off.

Although that said, training ground skirmishes happen all the time and if that's all it was, I suspect he'll start tomorrow night with Saturday's omission being his punishment.

I've always had this nagging feeling he was signed as a value for money stopgap, until Rafa can get somebody better in.

I reckon he might not be here next season, Fowler probably won't be either.

He just isn't LFC quality, and I'll stand by that.
