    Could things get any worse?

    Everton - Lost Won
    Blackurn - Lost Drew
    Portsmouth - Lost Drew
    Villa - Drew Won
Sunderland (say Sheffield United) - Drew Won
    Wigan - Won Won

Of the 6 games we have improved on all except Wigan which we won both times.

We have the best away form in the league with a third of the season gone.

Anfield will come right no doubt.

Things aren't great, but they are far from terrible.

Chelsea are back in the hunt on 24 points.

We win our (home) game in hand we will have......

    24 points.

This is what angers me about the knee jerk posters. Were still undefeated. Were soon going to be entering the crucial stage of the season (December to Feb) and we are still in the hunt. OPk we are slightly off the pace, but some people make it seem like were tenth with no hope of even making europe.

Blackburn will fade, Porthsmouth will fade, then it will be up to the top 4 to duke it out.
    *Except Michael, who died.

We always start slowly and get better through the winter. We'll be right up there no doubt about it.

now dont let facts get in the way

we are on a bit of a dip which is concerning but we are not far off the top either. lets see how its goes eh.

its the table at the end of the season that will tell us where we are.

Good post lad - Lets leave out the fact that we're down on key players through injury and also bedding in new players this season too. Also we are always the team that gets an early start in away games after internationals

While trying to be postive and from your statistics there is some light to remain smiling, one can argue:

vs Birmingham home -2 points lost
vs Spurs home -2 points lost (last year we won)
vs Chelsea home -2 points lost (last year we won)
vs Arsenal home -2 points lost (last year we won)

so this year our home record is negative (up to now)

              Arsenal - won drew
              Spurs - won drew
              Birmingham (say Watford) won drew

Or did you only choose those 6 games for a reason?

Or ignore what he said and just keep thinking that we are going to get relegated and that it's the end of the world.

We are playing badly, and have done for the majority of the season, however, we are unbeaten and within 6 points of the top, with a game in hand.

Things are starting to get better, so lets get a little perspective...

The way all you doom-merchants are talking, you'd have thought we were going to be.

Alot of those unbeaten games we were EXTREMELY lucky. Previous game for example, they hit the post twice. We hit someone in the crowd twice. I dont think I can remember too often where the team has looked unsure of what to do on the field when they had the ball. At least not this many games in a row. We still need more flair players. Hopefully Benitez signs a couple in january. Cause right now with the current team, thinking we'll win or at least get second is a little too optimistic. Nothing to do with being negative, just pointing out we're NOT a title winning team yet.

Well, who said everything was perfect? This ridiculous exaggeration of other people's arguments is happening on all sides, it's dull.
