Liverpool v Besiktas- Build Up Thread

Seeing as there are so many negative threads around, thought we mite aswell look ahead to Besiktas on Tuesday night!

    Rafa says:

"if we lose it is not the end of the world"

    and

"It's important to win in terms of the financial situation"

    Rafa Interview

Personally i think we will get a scrappy victory on Tuesday night but will crash out the competition away to Marseille

As for the starting XI, i would go for:

    ---------------Reina---------------
    Finnan--Carragher--Hyypia--Arbeloa
    Benayoun-Gerrard-Mascherano-Kewell
    -----------Babel--Crouch-----------

I think that is our strongest lineup available atm and should really beat Besiktas by a few goals! What you think?

Well we never do things the easy way! I think we will give Besitktas a bit of beating, we were miles better than them last timeout but they took their chances very well.
If we can covert some early chances we'll be ok.

I dont think we'll crash out to the French, I think we'll be ok, and go through probably in second place.

If we get an early goal (or 2 ) then I think we may start playing some decent football and win by several goals. However , if it is still 0 - 0 after about 70 mins I think we may start to panic and then lose a goal.

I don't think team confidence is high and the crowd will get edgy after 65 - 70 mins.

Having said all that I expect a handsome victory with fast-flowing , entertaining football after our 2nd goal

And Crouch will start and score

3-0 to the reds no problem

If Marseille dont lose at Porto and beat Besiktas then they would have already qualified for CL. They are not doing so well in the league so they might consider playing 2nd string team in the last match.

Think we'll drub 'em. Three or four.

I still can't believe we lost out there, 'cos they are ****E.

Two good wins this week and things will start looking up, with players coming back after the break.

Would like to see something along the lines of:

                    Reina
                    Finnan-Carra-Sami-Riise
                    Gerrard-Mascher-Lucas-Kewell
                    Crouch-Kuyt

Our form has to turn at some stage and this is a game we have to win.

A 2 or 3 nil win could help us build some momentum.

I just don't feel good about anything to do with LFC nowadays. We'll probably have most of the possession with no real chances to show for it. They'll likely nick a goal, then we'll scramble one back for a 1-1 draw...UEFA Cup here we come.

I'll gladly eat my words if I'm wrong...

Over the last few games we have slowly been improving in our general play, its taking its time but its coming. I think its all going to click against the turks and we will give them a hiding they will remember for some time, then lawrie the tit sanchez is getting it big time at the weekend too.

                              Here's hoping Coops lad.
Crouch must start and i'd actually stick the Crow up top beside him.
Yossi and Kewell on the wings, Gerrard and Masherano in centre mid.
Enough good, creative players to put on a sizzling performance and win us the game.
