I think I'm the only one that thinks...

...that Rafa got his tactics spot on against Blackburn.

We kept things tight the first 60-65 minutes and then when Blackburn got tired and ran out of ideas then Rafa decided to start to attack them.

We couldn't play an attacking game from the start with Hyypia playing but we could do that when Blackburns strikers got tired and slower.

Sissoko and Mascherano took out all energy from Blackburns midfield and it would have paid off if we had not missed chance after chance the last 15-20 minutes.

Kuyts hard work made the Blackburn defenders scared and in the end they hoofed away the ball because he were everywhere. That gave us more possession and better control of the game. Blackburn also made a few rushed mistakes because they got tired at the end of the game.

Kewell has been out a long time and Rafa can't take any chances with him so he couldn't let him in earlier.

Blackburn away is a difficult game and even more difficult with Agger, Alonso and Torres out injured.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Yeah, but where those tactics fall apart is that we could have easily been 2-3 behind by the hour mark.

What's the point of only attacking when you've already lost the game?

Whereas I think this is a benefit of his rotation policy I would shudder to think that LFC's tactics would be (only) to wait till the opposition get tired and then go for it. We should be better than that.
You can agree with me, or you can be wrong.

As I pointed out. We really can't play an attacking game from the start with Hyypia on the pitch. He is to slow for that.

I think Rafa would have changed our tactic if they had scored but as long as they didn't there was no point in changing to a more attacking game to early.

We should be looking to score the first goal. Not sit back hoping teams dont score and then look to win the game at the death. Dangerous tactics if you ask me.

We are missing a few key players and that will affect the tactics.

I doubt that Rafa would have played the same way if Torres, Agger and Alonso had been available.

Rafa got his tactics spot on if you look at which players he had available for the game.

Ya but we did not have the attacking players to finish them off.
If we had top class attackers we would be higher up the table.

That statement has completely baffled me.

Sounds like we are clutching at straws in terms of finding reasons we were so ****e. If your analysis makes you feel better about Saturdays game/result fair enough - makes me feel even worse if it wer etrue, which it isn't.

Cant say about his tactics but imo Crouch should have started instead of Kuyt. Not going into the Kuyt is good or not debate but Gerrard links very well with Crouch and has scored a lot of goals from his layoffs. If he was playing attacking mid then what was Crouch doing on the bench.

Or maybe an injury room with lesser players. We started looking good from the moment Kewell came on. If he can stay fit for the whole season alongwith our other key players, we will win the title.

Not with no goal return from the wide players and only one top striker i'm afraid. At least Kewell turned the fullback and went at them.
New players have to come to the club ASAP and quiet a few have to go.

Would you play an attacking game with Hyypia playing and Sissoko in the middle? He will lose a few balls which means that Blackburn will get a few quick counter attacks. They won't get that chance if we play deep and tight, we did that the first 60-65 minutes, after that we dominated the game.

You really can't ask for much more than that with the players we had available. No team will come to Ewood Park and dominate the whole game.

Or perhaps we should've started the game with the players who finished, played the way we did in the last 15 minutes for the whole 90 and won the game.

                          Or maybe I'm wrong.

Kewell isn't fit enough to play a whole game yet. It's better to play him against tired players than fresh players.

Of course, but you get my point?

It took us 41 minutes to have an effort on goal.

                              Where was the attacking intent?

Football's all about scoring goals and winning games. We didn't seem to be bothered about either in the first half.
