Anyone off to the match tomorrow?

Well if you are then make sure you dont come back with a voice. Sing your heart out for 90 minutes and let's push the lads on for the win.

Simple fact is, we dont beat them, we're out of the Champions League, not something that any of you will be happy about.

So c'mon ladies, let's be 'avin you!

Contrary to popular belief, I have huge genitals.

it's funny how we only seem to generate an atmosphere when our backs are against the wall.

A draw between Marseille and Porto might help as well
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"

Lawrenson: Errr I thought I just did say that, John"

wouldnt porto getting beat favour us more? were going after 2nd place surely.

If Porto win I think it could be a bad result for us. Would I be right in thinking that then we'd be looking at goal difference and head to head records with Marseille (assuming they beat Besiktas in Turkey) as we'd likely finish on the same points if we beat them at their place (with Porto likely topping the group)?

Not much point in speculating about the potential permutations of the group. Certainly not yet anyway. Let's just win our games, one by one and see how the land lies tomorrow morning.

The only way to look at tonight is that we need to win, preferably 2-0 so that we'll have a better head-to-head against Besiktas, should it be needed.

We cant influence the other game, so let's just do our bit and go from there.

Absolutely you're right. But I'm just thinking that with Marseille having a much better goal difference than us already that we really need to be looking to win by more than just one goal tonight.

if us and porto win tonight the table will be like this.

                1. porto 8pts
                2. marsielle 7pts
                3. liverpool 4pts
                4. besiktas 3pts

we beat porto and marseille in our 2 final games, leaves us on 10pts assuming marseille beat besiktas that will give them 10pts, i dont want another goal difference battle again.

marseille winning tonight will give us a better chance, as long as we win all of or final games that is.

But if it does come down to a goal difference balance we really need to start racking them in tonight rather than hoping for a two clear goal margin of victory in France or whatever. I expect Porto to win tonight so it could easily come down to that. I think our best hope of making it lies in Besiktas getting something against Marseille.

Goal difference doesnt come into it straight away, the first method of splitting teams on the same points is:

                              Head to Head results

                              Then

Away goals in the Head to Head

                              Goal Difference

                              Goals scored

and finally the teams Uefa co-effiecients over the past 5 years
Lawrenson:"Well thats 3 good chances they have had in the first 3 minutes of this half"

Motson:"" Yes Mark, you could almost say that they have had 3 chances in as many minutes"
