Riise hasn't scored a goal in the league for over a year. He would score a lot of points in Rugby and the pidgeons must be scared stiff when Riise try to score.

Aurelio hasn't scored a goal, full stop.

Disagree, his crossing and passing, his ability to retain the ball and his vision far exceed anything we get from Riise. No?

People are just saying that because they're a bit pissed at Riise, possibly even making him a scapegoat for our bad form. The truth is, most people had labelled Aurelio as a waste of space some time ago. Out of sight out of mind....if he becomes a regular, most of you will be slating Aurelio very soon.

Gerrard is our best player and the hearbeat our team so imo the team should be build around him thats why i went for 442.

and gerrard has constantly been **** when played in the middle, last season and the beginning of this one, i think his best position in in front of two midfielder, one who tackles the **** out of everyone (mascerano) and the other one conrolles the pace of the game (Alonso, lucas). then he is free to do what he does best, Attack. his tactical unawareness has really hurt us at times when he's been played in the middle, he has no ability to control the tempo of the team...

but that shouldn't affect us today, we should ruin besiktas no matter what...

for me, i would take out yossi and put in kuyt - dont care what anyone says,he is a ****ing beast for our team.

Would swap arbeloa for finnan (and maybe stick arbeloa at LB).
Also mascherano out and pennant on the right (depending on the opposition).

Pennant since the turn of the year has been a bit of an unsung hero IMO.
Not a world beater, but does more than his fair share for the team, and good on the break. With torres to aim for he can break at pace now.

agreed.thats probably the best position for benayoun.i'd like babel somewhere in there...but if rafa doesnt play him upfront i dont think we gonna get much outta of the lad. my only concern is that gerrard and his defensive duties...i dont think he is gonna spend much time on the wings thus he'd probably be cutting in most of the time which leaves arbeloa rather vulnerable to counter attacks. thats my only concern ...but i'm liking it purely cus of where benayoun slots in
