This is the Benitez ideal, and we played it last night: short passing, long passing, crossing from wide, hitting a team from all angles, so that they don't get comfortable.



Football's not complicated, and all that should be obvious, but so many teams play a one dimensional game.

Too right we did! and we did it without a key defender, a key midfielder and our main striker.

we would have beaten them without the spine of our team, and almost did brushing them aside 8-0.
It goes to show how Rafa tactics can really work sometimes, with all the attacking flair the mancs, arsenal, Barca, Real have etc and against the **** teams they have played, they never beat a team by this score in the CL. Rafa deserves full praise for this result. This Besiktas team started well against us yesterday, fair enough their heads dropped after the second goal, but we dropped their heads and we made them look bad.

Arsenal have been the media golden boys since Arsene's 'kids' started winning the odd Carling Cup game.

The fact that they're based in London just like those dirty media types doesn't hurt them either.
