The bloke in the Daily Torygraph mentioned the Voronin-Gerrard goal and maybe the BABEL backheel?

Crouch and Voronin did combine very, very, well. Was this their first pairing? If it was how interesting that perhaps the least likeliest up front pair combined so well.

Crouch flicked on for Voronin's thunderbolt against Toulouse. They played away to Pompy also which is a game most of us want to forget but they did look better yesterday.

It really was an incredible performance, Gerrard's goal was a thing of beauty,

Thought we played well - against a team who frankly didn't compete. How the hell we lost at their gaff is beyond me.
              Liverpool born and bred.

Oh how I loved it when goal #8 went in and we took the record from Arsenal. My husband is a bloody Gooner.

A mixtue of short slick passing AND direct play is the most effective football. Might not look as good as Arsenal but on many occasions we have seen Arsenal guilty of 'overplaying'.

This is the Benitez ideal, and we played it last night: short passing, long passing, crossing from wide, hitting a team from all angles, so that they don't get comfortable.

Football's not complicated, and all that should be obvious, but so many teams play a one dimensional game.

It goes to show how Rafa tactics can really work sometimes, with all the attacking flair the mancs, arsenal, Barca, Real have etc and against the **** teams they have played, they never beat a team by this score in the CL. Rafa deserves full praise for this result. This Besiktas team started well against us yesterday, fair enough their heads dropped after the second goal, but we dropped their heads and we made them look bad.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

The fact that they're based in London just like those dirty media types doesn't hurt them either.

The whole thing is getting pretty tiresome now.
