    Voronin

Cant believe theres not a thread about his performance, was key in all 5 goals while he was on the pitch. IMO better than kuyt, showed good pace tonight and link up play was superb, my MOTM.

I think he's been a very good signing so far and tonight he played out of his skin. A very intelligent footballer....but he should never ever be played alongside Kuyt.

    Well done the Crow!!

good point - they're too similar.

He had a decent performance tonight - I'd like to see a better player than him in our squad but he is what he is and give 100%

Do you know what, I think Voronin is the perfect 'squad' player. He's not 1st or 2nd choice but he could easily slot in as 3rd or 4th. Probably the latter but I'd like to see him stay ahead of Kuyt who we could at least get some decent cash for.

But I would like to see Torres and Crouch given a Run up front. Torres will Love Crouch's knock downs

I agree - but what I mean is in an ideal squad he probably wouldn't be in my top 4 strikers of choice, neither would Crouchy or Kuyt.

                It's easily our best pairing.

I suppose if we had the choice of the world's best I totally agree but realistically speaking it would be impossible to keep 4 world class strikers happy at the club.

I would be reasonably happy with Torres, Crouch, voronin and either Etoo or Villa.
Then we would strike fear into the hearts of opposition defenders.

I thought he was rubbish for the first 15 minutes or so but from Crouch's goal onwards he looked good, especially in the second half. I think what he has over Kuyt is he's more creative, he's more aware of where the other players are and has the vision to put a good pass through

I was going to start a new topic about Voronin until I found this, I thought he was brilliant, his awareness or game intelligence as Rafa would call it was amazing but the most impressive aspect for me is that you can tell he totally buys into the squad and Rafa's ideas on rotation, it didn't matter what the score was he was picking the right pass to play and making the right decisions rather that trying to shoot just to get himself a goal. He seems comfortable with his role and knows that he will get picked and get his games based on his performances not on whether he scores or not.
We had Riise shooting from further and further out the longer the game went on and although I thought Crouch played well you can tell by his body language that he thinks scoring is the way to keep him in the team.
I'd probably wager that if 1 of them kept their place for Fulham it would be Voronin, and I would agree with that.

Kuyt is simply out of form and confidence. He'll prove his critics wrong, just like the team did last night. It's still one match, and one swallow doesn't make a summer.

He played well because the Besiktas defence was so poor, they allowed him to play, did not squeeze the play or even tackle.

He has been hit and miss, more miss then hit.
                            We come not to play.

he played well because of his intelligent play. the runs he makes, the positions he takes and the effort he puts in are spot on. he creates chances for others and is very, very unselfish. that is why he's ahead of crouch in the pecking order, simple as that.
