Its a pity the players dont feel the same way. If they did then maybe something could be done about the ridiculous international schedule.
They will be back for four weeks and then away again for another two match international week. Crazy. Especially when you consider the calibre of some of the opposition"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."

I'm not sure when but I know for me since the end of Hoddle, England have played some of the worst football known to man and have almost comletely turned me off international football.
When was the last great World Cup or Euro Championship? maybe 1996 and 1988 for the Euro's and maybe 1986 wc?
LFC first for me/

Is that when Everton was founded?Originally posted by rnm1874, nextBill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

I think fans of big clubs like us and the Mancs will always put club first whereas supporters of smaller clubs like Exeter, Peterborough, Norwich and Everton will put their country first.Originally posted by ronanwhile its no secret that many liverpudlians will always put the club before their country,it wasnt always this way, when did this mentality start?
We're extremely fortunate that we have had great days out at places like Cardiff, Istanbul and Dortmund with regular trips to the Continent to support our boys. Smaller clubs never get this so following England (or Wales, etc) is the nearest they'll get to being a part of something "special".
Personally, I don't give a **** about England (or any other country) and if somebody asks me my nationality I always say "Scouse". I even had a genuine Scouse Passport back in the 80s and carried it everywhere with me!
There is a light that never goes out. RIP Alan "Mally" Johnston and the 96. YNWA.
