    The Tall One

    Congratulations Crouchie son.

His treatment is my main grievance I have with Rafa. I can stomach the at times negative tactics and rotation as long as its fair. But we are a better team with Crouch in it. We'd have a lot more wins had he been selected ahead of certain other individuals.

Stevie G loves playing off of him and since he's far and away our best player it makes sense to get the best from him.

I was willing Crouch to get a second and thanks to Benni he did just that.

I can't help feel it won't be enough to get him a game on saturday though.

Special mention to the other tall one, Sami, playing his 100th euro game, thought he was immense second half getting stuck in.

If only he'd played more games so far this season.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He has proved his worth in the last few games no doubt. I hope he stays.

but I doubt that he will do that. He hasn't been offered a new deal yet.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

As I've been saying since the postmortem on last season began following Athens, in 2006-2007 Crouch started half our matches and we won over 75% of those games. The other half, when we went with combinations of Kuyt, Fowler and Bellamy, we won barely more than 35% of. He was by no means a goal machine but we were a better team when he played and it wouldn't have been pushing it to play him more.

The arrival of Torres complicates things because he becomes the automatic first choice, as you would expect. But for that to mean Crouch becomes even more of an outcast baffles me.

I honestly don't think Crouch was that great last night.
He did score 2 goals though, but others outshone him clearly.

                Suicide

Yes, it would be suicide to let Crouchie go. The most hard working and honest player we have had in years. Great feet, vision, awareness and he gets the goals too. He must start against Fulham, if he doesn't then you could take it as bye bye Crouchie. If Rafa doesn't sell him he will prob look to leave. Who could blame him? He has never let Liverpool down. Give the big man a good run in the team, he deserves it!!

He wasn't 'Great' but scored two and brought others into the game. At times he had 3 defenders marking him, leaving room for Benni and others to expose.

                  He's our biggest threat imo.

To be fair I don't think any of our players were 'great' considering the quality of the opposition. Benni would have had only one goal but for the worst keeper since Taibi at Utd.

but goals win us game, we miss so many chances at times. once we'd scored two last night the team had the confidence to go and play, they let the cautious stuff out of mind and scored more.

Crow is creative but needs to score more goals, Crouch needs to add strength and intelligence to his game, their qualities together add up to Torres.

Sorry, don't agree. Torres and SG are bigger threats imo.

Yeah, the opposition was dire and the goalie horrendous. But we still had to keep going for the whole game, which we did. But I wouldn't place too much emphasis on this result.

I think the problem is that he see's Torres and Crouch as 1 from 2 and Kuyt and Voronin as 1 from 2, I know he's played different combinations but how many times has Crouch played with Torres? just Reading maybe. So I think Crouch's lack of games is connected to signing Torres, can't explain why he didn't play more when Torres was injured though, may have been because we didn't have wingers available then either
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

                              I disagree.

The Turks **** themselves every time we attacked they surrounded Crouchie which left space for the likes of Yossi and The Crow.
