Spurs, Liverpool alerted as Daniel Alves set for Sevilla sale
    tribalfooball.com - November 07, 2007

Tottenham and Liverpool have been put on red alert after it emerged that Sevilla are ready to sell star fullback Daniel Alves.

Fredi Kanoute's agent, Christopher Mongai, dropped the bombshell yesterday when discussing the prospect of his client returning to Spurs in January.

"Sevilla wants to rebuild their team and I have an appointment with them next week," he said. "They are at the end of a cycle and I believe that Kanoute and Alves can be sold."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Well, if he is available at a fair price then Rafa will probably make a move but who knows and I don't really care anymore.

If Rafa signs him then I will delighted but I won't be disappointed if we don't sign him.

Yeah, this protracted transfer sagas where a player is being pimped around for 3/4 transfer windows are in a row are just tiresome.

He's a good player and he'd improve our team no doubt but this subject has been flogged to death.

12m tops or we stick with Arbeloa who was awesome last night and deserves to keep his place against a tired looking Finnen

People are going to bid, they get accepted then at the last minute they shove the price up. We are not going to buy him so let's forget about it, the same with Owen, Aguero and Richards
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

an able replacement yes he is. but i just dont see him as our first choice right back to replace finnan. definitely a useful player to have in the squad but i dont think we'll be getting consistent performances like what finnan has given us.but at the moment the right back position is not something we should be concerned with right now.

if we were in for Alves i would imagine Rafa would play him as a winger.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

I dont think anyone can be as consistant or honourable than Finnen, a top guy. I think he looked tired recently and does need a break. Arbeloa is a worthy replacement and should show consistancy in time.

I think Stevie Fin could do with a long rest to be honest. He's been an ever present for as long as I can remember.

We need fullbacks like him so badly. It's one of the major issues on our team. When you look at what Evra offers on the LB compared to Riise or Fabio. Or what Alves would offer compared to Finnan. We need creative FB as much as better wingers.

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

You can also add that Rafa plays a system in which the fullbacks should overlap very much on the wings.

Time will tell this season if Aurelio can stay injury free and if Arbeloa is the answer on the right.
