    Big Sami

The guy is a liverpool legend, but his time has come. Danny Agger proved that he merits selection in Carras absence, and he should come in for Sami.
Agger offers us creativity from the back, he is not afraid to bring the ball forward, instead of hoofing it upfield.

Its no coincidence that we seem to look better in attack when Agger plays....he draws players towards him, thus opening up room for our midfielders to exploit. Hyypia just kicks it to the first person he sees, opposition midfileders know he will do this....so they just sit back and let him. All the while clogging up the center of midfiled, making it harder for us to create "easy" chances.

sorry big Sami but you have to step aside.

I have to agree. I was listening to the game on the radio yesterday and thought the same thing. Agge has proved he can play and should be in the side at least when Carra was still under the injury cloud. Anyone who went to the game, lets have your thoughts....thanks

Sami wasn't helped by having a clearly unfit Carragher along side him.

True Carra didnt help....but he hasnt looked convincing in the other games either.

We looked our best in the charity shield, with Agger.

Hyypia annoyed the **** outta me on sat nite. Our defence was ****E. Mistake after mistake. Also I'm not impressed with our Fabio. What the hell was he bought for? LW or LB? He don't look great at LB.

Get Agger back in. He was great when he played the last few games. Maybe time to try out Warnock at LB again. See how that goes.

Of the back 5 (Reina included) I thought Hyypia had the best game.

It's not saying much I know.
            Oh I don't know.

I thought Sami was ok on Sat and has been for us for the past few games. It was Carra, Fabio and Reina who were poor on Saturday.
Buit I do agree that agger should be in the side, maybe we could go 3 at the back and push Fabio into a wingback type role?

Sami was our only decent defender on Saturday. If anyone needs to be benched at the moment, it's Carra - who clearly is not fit yet. That 'clearance' against AJ was worthy of poor Traore.

True, and two Centre backs giving away 5 yards of room to a striker leads to many dangerous situations. If we face a pacey strike force then surely one of the Centre Halfs needs to be a bit nippy too...

Sami also wasn't helped by a left back who clearly is in way in over his head when it comes to defending!!

We all know how quiet Sami is on the field, but Sami was screaming at Fabio throughout saturday. None of the other defenders trust him on the pitch IMO. Get wll very soon JAR

                      What game were you watching

Didn't you see how Johnson turned, ran around Sami and still beat him to the ball for the second Goal?

My two favorite players in the team at present is Sami and Fowler. Unfortunately both proved on Saturday that their End is near.

I wouldn't write off Big Sami just yet, the defence is looking a shadow of last years immense performances.

You can bet your bottom dollar that Rafa is working hard on the training pitch to turn that around. Sami still has a very important role to play.

Not so sure about that mate. IMO Sami saw that Carra was sprinting across to belt the ball into the stands. Sami made no real effort to beat AJ to the ball cos Carra was there. Unfortunately Sami had no idea that Carra was about to mince about instead of getting rid.

I agree Sami will still play a Big role but against pacey attackers, he's a liability and teams will exploit that.

I didn't think Sami was the worst on Saturday either. Carra and Aurelio were poor.
