I agree, my point was, we had tried playing the ball all game with short passing and got nowhere, when torres came on, we could be more direct with his pace, his goal was the result of a direct ball due to the fact he was on the pitch. The goal itself was top notch, and the work of a real world class talent.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostTorres is class, he made that goals his self. I don't think anyone else would have created/scored it.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

i have nothing personal against riise but fulham at home was not te place to play him in left midfield. he doesn't offer enough going forward in such games.Originally posted by Big-Red-Ed View PostToo right. in fact how does riise play when kewell and babel are clearly better options
Good win, it'll build momentum and keep us in touching distance and whilst we did dominate i thought for too many periods in the match we huffed and puffed too much. Their keeper was not tested as much as i would like to have seen, especially as we had so much possession
