    Babel

Up and down performance from the young Dutchman today. Looked dangerous at times, made a couple of nice runs, wonderful ball to Crouch leading up to the penalty, and did well to find Yossi for a scoring chance...

He's got to start going wide sometimes when he is played out there, though. The boy's got some skill, and can go to either side, as he's certainly comfortable cutting inside from either the left or the right. I just think staying on the touchline from time to time would make him less predictable, and considerably more dangerous. He also tries to do too much with the ball when he does cut inside. I thought, on a couple of occasions, that he would have done better to play the ball through to the overlapping Arbeloa...I think those two have the potential for some exciting link up play...

If he can improve on his decision making, he'll be a tremendous player sooner than later, in my opinion. Let's hope Rafa can steer him in that direction.

I have high hopes for him.

He's very erratic and can go from looking sublime to looking ridiculous, but if that power, pace and skill is harnessed in the right way, I think we'll have another star on our hands.

He's got a long way to go, like, but I think he's steadily improving.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

      Looks good, but very raw.

Sums up Ryan Babel in one sentence.

He's improved already. Just needs to keep doing so.

He needs to learn to move in the same tempo as his team. He tends to be off tempo so he has to make up for it by running and/or taking people on.

When he learns the tempo he will find his teammates more easily and they will find him in a good position more easily.

IMHO it is only a matter of time.

Pretty much the same as The Dreadful Ronaldo against Kiev midweek, but he cost less and wasn`t voted "Best player of the Season" last yr.

Babel was great when he came on. Is it just me or did anyone else see little glimpses of a young digger in some of his play.

I thought he did very well today. Its not easy to make a contribution from the bench but he did that today.

He's clearly very talented and in 2 or 3 years time will be really top notch in my view.

He will take the Premiership by storm NEXT season and you heard it here first.

Still i'm sure we'll see glimpses of what the young Dutchman has to offer this season.

He just needs time to adapt but he has the potential to be world class we just have to be patient, he is showing glimpses every week that he is getting better and when he actually finds a natural position in the team will be awesome
