    Miles better.

I see what bigfooty means - insofar as Babel isn't really comfortable on the wings - but I think he does a better job out wide than Cisse did.

I'd love to see us buy a top class left winger (like Silva...we can all dream) and add Babel to our pool of four strikers.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I would love to see him upfront with Torres to see if it worked. What pace!! IF IF IF Kewell can sort himself out we can stick him on the left with Babel and Torres up front

Babel to me is a cross between John Barnes and Dwaine Dibley.
        Oh I don't know.

If he really is at his best as a striker then we can all be damn sure Rafa will play him as a winger.

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

I'm certain Rafa will eventually convert him into a striker. We can all see that he's no winger.

I like Babel, I think he has bags of potential but I also believe that even before he fullfills his potential he can do some real damage in the premiership. I'd like to see Rafa involving him more bit by bit...

He's patently not suited to playing as a winger in a 4-4-2. He's a forward and everyone can see it.

I hope that after his bedding in season, he'll be moved up front and then we can buy a proper left winger.

                        i agree about that.
rafa said in an interview that babel's ability to get past people was what impressed him most. even if rafa sees him as a striker or forward long term, he probably sees it as the posistion to bed him in, give him confidence and improve his play. it's what wenger said about walcot - that he'll improve his ability to beat his markers by playing him on the wing for some time.

Couldn't agree more - he'll bed into the team & premier league from the wing and then move up top.

rafa has never actually siad he sees babel as a winger. he has been quoted as saying he sees him playing in a thierry henry role coming in from the wing. i think thats why whenever you see babel get the ball he imediately starts to head infield like henry used too....and if turns out to be half the player henry was (is) then we will have a real gem on our hands!
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Rafa has said on a couple of occassions that he thinks babel can play in any of the front 4 positions. Given Rafa's like of inside rights/lefts I'm not suprised he's using him there. I also wouldn't be suprised if he saw Babel as a striker and he is just playing him out wide to further game intelligence. Similar to what he did with Hobbs. He wanted Hobbs to be a ball playing CH, so played him as a DM for a year to develop the requisite skills.
