do you know what, it doesnt bother me what they do with the debt because after the stadium is built we will be able to cover the debt anyway. If we were ever to get in financial ****, which wont happen, we will easily attract a better buyer. Do ya know why?
Because we are Liverpool. Simple really

Our growth will have to be in two stages due to the planning permission.

Also being jammy *******s Arsenal somehow convinced the local council that they wouldn't have to pay for any upgrades to public transport to put up with match day crowds. This has resulted in the tube footing the £25m estimated bill to upgrade their service in the next few years. We will undoubtedly have to pay for all links to our new ground.
That was my point, we could possibly get nearer to it if we had the 16,000 extra seats, and higher quality exec. boxes than old trafford, bunker suits etc.
I really cant understand how the city is not helping out more than it is with our stadium, like, how much money has LFC brought into the city over the past 100 years. Yet it seems like we get little in return. IF the City actually helped fund a bigger capicty big digging to help with infrastructure, they would be investing in themselves due to the extra revenue coming into the city.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

However, Hicks' spokesman Roy Winnick insists the speculation is wide of the mark.
"There is absolutely no truth whatsoever in the rumour that Mr Hicks is even considering investing in Roma football club," Winnick said.
          Bollox Mr Winnick.

How then could an American businessman who is a part owner of Liverpool FC even be linked with this story?

Just trying to get the share price up??

Tom Hicks denies any Roma take-over

Nov 13 2007 by Rory Squires, Liverpool Daily Post

A SPOKESMAN for Tom Hicks has flatly denied the Liverpool co-owner has any interest in acquiring Serie A giant Roma.

The Italian club’s share price rocketed by around eight per cent on yesterday in the wake of widespread reports in the country that Hicks had held talks with Roma president Franco Sensi about buying a majority shareholding.

However, Hicks’ spokesman Roy Winnick insists the speculation is wide of the mark.

“There is absolutely no truth whatsoever in the rumour that Mr Hicks is even considering investing in Roma football club,” Winnick said.

Earlier in the day, Roma’s controlling shareholder Italpetroli released a statement saying the company had “been informed by a third party of the possible interest of an American businessman wanting to invest in AS Roma’s capital”.

The statement added: “As of yet, Italpetroli has not received, directly or indirectly, any interest nor offer from such investor, with the object of acquiring the majority package of AS Roma.”

UEFA regula-tions prohibit an individual from having a majority shareholding in more than one club competing in the same competition.

Maybe he or someone close to him is considering a minority shareholding. Looks like that would be allowed, they haven't said buy the club just invest.

Tom Hicks scores a picture goal for Wirral charities

                Nov 13 2007

SIX local charities have benefited from the generosity of Liverpool owner Tom Hicks.

The American businessman paid £30,000 for an artist’s proof print of the official 2006 Open Golf Championship painting of the Hoylake links – a print signed by all 156 competitors and twice by the winner Tiger Woods.

Hicks, who took over at Anfield alongside George Gillett, is a keen golfer. The charities – Hoylake Cottage, St John’s Hospice, Claire House Hospice for Children, Macmillan Nurses, Brunswick Youth Club and North West Cancer Research – each received £5,000.

                  PARRY: WE'RE ALL WORKING TOGETHER
                  Paul Eaton 13 November 2007

Liverpool Chief Executive Rick Parry has today insisted Tom Hicks and George Gillett are continuing to work closely together to achieve their vision of a successful Anfield future.
One newspaper report over the weekend claimed there was a split developing in the partnership between the Reds' co-Chairmen, but Parry dismissed the story and stressed both Hicks and Gillett remain as committed as ever to taking Liverpool back to the summit of domestic and European football.

"I've just spent a couple of days with Tom and George and both of them were in good spirits working hard together on future plans for the club," said Parry.

"I wouldn't normally comment on these things, but on the basis of what I've just seen, a story in one of the Sunday papers claiming there was some sort of problem between the two couldn't be wider of the mark. In fact, it's absolute nonsense."

The London Press will do all they can to disrupt us.

Sky Sports news have recently done loads of stories on ManU and Arsenil While forgetting to mention our unbeaten run and the fact we`re pretty close to the top of the league.Pisses me off.

To be honest I think the last thing we need is a load of hype around the team. We need to quietly build from our recent good performances. At the minute we have a lot to work on to get back to our top level and be ready to really challenge Arsenal and United.

agree then with two games to go we win them both and finish top on goal difference helped by the 5-0 thumping of the scum at old toilet

then they say where ta **** did liverpool come from - oh ye they were undefeated all year. how did we not spot that.

                          ****in media
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

                            Why?

I find the paranoia surrounding the 'London Press' amusing. Fact is we're unbeaten, and we're 6 points of the top in 5th, playing less attractive football than the top two.

                            Who cares anyway.
                            Oh I don't know.
