Rooney, Tevez, Van Persie, Drogba, Keane to name a few have all been better than his so far this season. Fair play Torres may have been unlucky with injuries but there is no way he is the best striker in the Premiership.
    Correct.

It doesn't matter what nationality you are, Keane has had an excellent start to the season and is at the moment ahead of Torres. Long term, Keano won't lace Nando's boots but it's a bit of a premature to be saying Torres is the best in the Premiership right now.

keane has scored 6 in 12, torres 5 in 7 - what does that tell you?

i will say that i would take torres over anyone else in the premiership.

keane has been excellent but still only has the same game to goal ratio as torres.

            That Torres has been injured.

Im not knocking Torres, and would have him over Keane anyday however to call him the best in the premiership is just so un-Liverpool. Better to be realistic, and hopefully over the duration of the season he will prove to be the best striker.

              Oirish are we?

so you're saying that Keane hasn't been better? Because you are you know.

EDIT: Thought we were on about Voronin or Kuyt or the usual bollix. Torres has been great but Keane has also been great. torres is the better player. they'd make a great partnership.

Why is that whenever someone mentions an Irish player as being a good player etc etc that they have to be Irish themselves and biast as ****?

The underage footy (schoolboy footy) over here is the ****ing business. there are some top notch players coming through. unfortunately most fail due to alcoholism.

that one plays for Spurs and 1 plays for LFC and that they're both good players. Amongst other things.

                  true.
what i don't understand is why you're saying that keane's ahead of torres if he only managed to score 1 more goal in 5 more apps?

Keane has been in a struggling team all season - yet still played well. It's not just the goal record that should be taken into account, its also assists and overall play.

I don't see what you're both arguing over -you're both basically saying the same thing.

Robbie Keane has had an excellent start to the season (true) but long term is not fit to lace Fernando's boots (also true).

                        Case Closed.

In the Fowler biography (i think) Fowler claims Houllier wanted to sign Keane, i can't remember but i'm sure Houllier asked Gary Mac to tap Keane up, Fowler found out because he called Gary Mac and he was asked what he thought about the potential move (Gary mac must have thought it was Keane on the Phone not Fowler )
                          We come not to play.

sorry mate but spurs have only been struggling defensively, however, they've scored more goals already than we have...
                            keane's got 2 assists, torres 1 ...
overall play ... hard to measure , innit?

Never knew Houllier liked Keane! i'd love him here now as a 'rotation' striker.

I reckon Toon will be a very very difficult game. Sam has quite a bit of time now to work on the training pitch with a good chunk of his squad, whilst most of our boys are away on international duty. They will be well up for our visit, especially with FAT sam hating us so much.

Gonna be a real tight affair.
