Gonna be a real tight affair.
I think he is unfortunate in that the old head he bought in to marshal the defence Cacapa has been playing with an injury and has consequently been crap. However I really don't see the international break being enough for him to transform his side.

I also think the poor form of his strikers has given him problems as Owen has looked the best goal threat but he really doesn't fit his game plan.

I think they are the ideal team for us to have to play at the minute (obviously Derby excepted but we have already played them). They are very much a work in progress and they are very vulnerable and haven't been scoring that many. It is the sort of game we have to be looking to win 2-0 or so IMO.

Rooney, Tevez, Van Persie, Drogba, Keane to name a few have all been better than his so far this season. Fair play Torres may have been unlucky with injuries but there is no way he is the best striker in the Premiership.

Tevez? He is some player but was a shadow of himself at the start of the season, abit like Mascher due to playing to much. Torres has definatley had a better start than him.

I couldn't give a **** who has been the best striker yet in the PL or how strikers in other teams are doing. All I know is that Torres has been **** hot for us, and we couldn't have asked for more from our most expensive player ever. The man is ****ing ace.

Rafael Benitez is hoping Fernando Torres' exclusion from the latest Spanish squad will give his star striker the chance to ensure he's ready to start at Newcastle next weekend.
Torres made a return to first team action as a second half substitute on Saturday after recovering from an adductor injury - and promptly broke the deadlock with a wonderful solo goal eight minutes from time.

Despite his return to fitness, Spanish coach Luis Aragones has left him out of his squad to face Sweden and Northern Ireland over the next ten days - a decision which Benitez believes will benefit Liverpool as they prepare for their next action at St James Park.

"I'm not surprised he isn't in the squad because he has been injured," said the Reds' boss.

"I'm pleased with the decision because it means he can stay with us and train and be ready for the next game. After a month without playing it's important he can work with us."

Benitez is delighted to have his record signing back available again and he insists Torres is the man who can help turn draws into wins over the rest of the season.

"It is the difference between a draw and three points. When you bring in a player like Fernando it is with this idea.

"He can do it because he's a player with pace. This ability when you have pace is an issue. I have ability but I don't have pace so I can't beat anyone! But Torres can do it.

"Dirk Kuyt and Andriy Voronin are very good finishers also but if you can go with the pace that Torres has you have an advantage.

"When you have four good strikers, you need to manage with the quality and the conditions of each one."

Oh thank the dear lord that Rafa's recognising the value of pace.

Absolutely immense. 8 in all comps, is it? Or more?

Keep him fit and he'll have an explosive season.

I'm pretty sure he recognised it before. Just never had the money to get someone with pace AND game intelligence.

Last season against Wigan, one of the opposition players lumped the ball outside near the half way and Rafa just walked forwards and killed it with one touch.
